The largest school in Edrenway and nearly a town of its own. The Square is right in the middle of campus and is the place to find all the school's shops and cafes. Branching off from here are all the main buildings of the school itself. The Square is the social center for students.

Blue robes fluttered in the wind and a tall female ducked her head, holding the hem of her cloak's hood down. Clear eyes stared ahead at the bustling street laid out before her. Students of all sorts were getting from place to place, similar to a bustling town or city-life. A small sigh of content escaped the dame's lips as she breathed in the warm spring air. It was going to be a sunny day today and Sera did not need the vision to know that.

The tall, slim professor's cloak swayed in the gentle breeze as he walked slowly through the Square, glancing into the windows of the familiar shops for the provisions he would need. He took note any store that had what he needed in stock and continued to his destination: the Square's central message board. Finding an empty space on the large board, he posted a small, undecorated piece of paper amid the bright advertisement flyers and posters for upcoming festivals. His parchment, lightly enchanted to catch the eye of adventurers, read:

"Seeking companions for excursion into the Highlands. No payment will be given, and no profit is expected. Simply a journey to find rare alchemical ingredients for use by Saint Yda's advanced classes. Danger quite possible. Those interested should visit the office of Professor Ichabod In Saint Yda's Cedarhill Hall.

Confident that the flyer would bring at least one interested adventurer, the professor carried on with his other business in the Square.

Although she rarely visited the Square, she found herself there that day after spending an extensive amount of time studying in the library and in great need of coffee.
Carolyn paused at the slight of her flyer. She made a full stop to read it. The Highlands? She was from Coblen. She had family up there. It would truly only be a dangerous excursion for the Magicks or those not from the area. At least, that's what she thought. Carolyn bit her bottom lip. She'd been attending the school for a while now and had not actually gone on any excursions or done any activities outside of attending classes. She hadn't been near home either. In a way, this interested her.

The professor had just exited the final shop on his trip when he noticed a student staring at his advertisement.
"Are you interested?" He asked, studying the young woman. "I couldn't help but notice you reading my flyer. Any student cleared for adventuring is free to come along."

Carolyn jumped at the sound of someone speaking to her. She wasn't much for other's people company. She cleared her throat, looking done at the ground. "Just a little," she said.

Ichabod smiled. "Excellent." An inquisitive look then appeared on his face. "I think I recognize you from somewhere. Perhaps you're in one of my classes?"

Carolyn looked up and squinted her eyes as she looked him over. "Maybe," she said. She didn't may much attention to who her teachers were either. "I don't come to the Square much, so that must be it."

"You must be right." He made a mental note to look for her among his students during the next few classes. "I suppose that's beside the point, anyway. You have the air of someone who can handle herself, and, not to give in to take advantage of you, traveling with a human like yourself would make entry into Colben much easier for someone like myself."

"You're Magick?" It wasn't always easy to tell. Carolyn didn't exactly look for any of the stereotypical traits either. "Are you sure someone like you should..." She didn't know how to finish that question. Going to Coblen was dangerous for his kind and for a bit being from Coblen made life a bit difficult for her in a place like this. Her accent still brought her unwanted attention.

"It's very kind of you to worry after me." Ichabod's eyes, for just a moment, had a sad, faraway look in them. "If only everyone from your country was more like you."

"There's a few." Carolyn shrugged. She actually wasn't sure about that. When she still lived in Coblen she mostly kept to the farm and fields that surrounded her house. There were other people of course, but her kind had a way of sticking to themselves. There must be a few who were Magick sympathizers though. If she was one she couldn't be the only way. Carolyn never liked the idea of thinking she was special.

"That's comforting to know." Ichabod smiled again. "So, when should we leave? My preparations are complete, so it's your decision."

Carolyn was surprised by the suddenness. Leaving already? Then again she guessed with something like this there wasn't much use in waiting around for something else to happen. "I'm ready when you are."
