Aric had nearly pissed himself from the fear of following, but now he truly did and the feeling of shame and fright swirled at the bit of his stomach as he swallowed the lump in his throat. His blood curdled and he wondered briefly among the thoughts of a painful death, if his sister had known about this before she raced off. His mouth hung open but no words came out.
Cira had already returned to the small room and was trying to climb back up into the throne room. She moved quickly, nervous sweat coating her skin as she jumped and climbed out of the whole and raced towards the castle entrance. Gnarled roots tripped her but she'd simply get up and brush herself off. She had to move quickly and she was upset with herself for not being able to move faster.

Dardanos chuckled, looking over Aric. He really liked this one. He reached over and closed his mouth with his finger. "I wonder how you taste." He moved to rip off what he had covering his chest and licked him, his tongue going over his chest and head. He smiled and licked his lips again. "Do you want to see where you're going?" He didn't wait for an answer, instead opening his mouth wide enough for Aric to see down to his throat. "You do taste nice." He pulled him away from his mouth and instead dangled him over it. He wasn't entirely sure that he wanted to eat him, but he did want to see how he reacted.

Aric screamed, failing his arms and legs around wildly. He squeezed his eyes shut.He couldn't find any words and even if he did he didn't know what he would say in such a situation. Of course he heard of such things, Magicks living in the Highlands of Coblen where for the most part they wouldn't be bothered. That was why his mother had moved up here, but he never imagined something like this.
"No, I...I have so much to live for!" Aric wasn't sure who he was pleading to. But he felt exposed and worried and absolutely terrified and maybe even a bit angry that his sister had left him here alone. But she'd be back soon, wouldn't she? And she'd save him just like the time his cart had been overrun by bandits. But this wasn't a bandit.
Cira was deep within the surrounding woods now, balancing on a branch and squinting her eyes in hopes of spotting something. What should she go after? A mountain lion? Too dangerous. She was alone and without a proper weapon. A deer? Possibly. If he was willing to eat her a deer should be big enough for him. Cira continued on.

He laughed, tossing Aric up in the air before catching him in his mouth. "Mmm..." He kept his upper half sticking out of his mouth so that Aric would be able to see for as long as possible. Opening his mouth wide, he tilted his head back and let Aric see his feet nearing the back of his throat. Dardanos could barely contain himself. He had forgotten how much he enjoyed this, and decided to make it go on as long as possible. Having them in the mouth was the best part.
As Cira didn't seem to be returning soon, he decided to go through with his plan to scare them. He figured that if he swallowed Aric quickly and swallowed air for him to breathe that he would be fine. If his digestive system was on, it probably would have digested his stomach already in it's hunger, so he presumed Aric would be safe. He swallowed once and pulled him deeper into his mouth, so that his feet entered Dar's throat and his shoulders were barely sticking out from his lips. He hoped that the little half-human didn't faint and somehow land wrong and suffocate himself on the side of his stomach. He wasn't intent on spitting him out as soon as he went down there. He hated spitting things out.

Aric almost did faint. He certainly felt light headed and he huddled somewhere deep in the corner of his mind where his life started to flash before his eyes. Aric didn't struggle much, he was frozen stiff.
While Aric was being swallowed Cira had managed to find and kill a deer. It had been running from a pack of wolves and Cira took the opportunity as it was already wounded and escaping. She was dragging it back now, trying to move fast. It was still bleeding and nothing was good about dragging a dead, bleeding, deer through the woods at night. Cira approached the castle, trying to convince herself that nothing bad had happened to Aric. If something did...well then she didn't know what she would do then. If something terrible happened to Aric, she couldn't very well go home. He was the favorite and the most likely to get them the money to leave this rotten country. And more importantly, she didn't want his blood on her hands.
She dragged the deer through the ballroom and into the throne room and wondered with dread how she was going to get it down all those stairs.

By the time that Cira had returned, Dardanos had swallowed Aric down and was not waiting for her to make her way down into the hole. Although Aric's current situation was unpleasant, it wasn't deadly. Although it was dark and a little humid, it wasn't incredibly cramped. The walls of his stomach were squishy and slightly wet, however there was no acid and it didn't burn to touch. A smart observer would probably notice that Dar had no way to kill Aric while he was in there, however with Aric's panicked state Dar had no idea if he would notice and calm down or not. In an attempt to make him not have a complete heart attack, Dar put his hand on his stomach to try to calm the young half-human. At the same time, however, he worried that Aric would just take this as him rubbing his stomach after a good meal... Dardanos sighed. He was no good at calming people down. He looked up at the stone and waited for Cira to try to find her way down.

Aric had reduced to curling up in ball, rocking slightly as he prayed to himself. He wasn't actually religious, but it was better than nothing. Cira was grunting as she carried the deer down the stairs. She was hunched over with it on her back and she was breathing in heavy, ragged breath. She threw the deer over the edge before falling to her knees to catch her breath. She didn't spot her brother, but at the time she wasn't looking she was simply hoping to relieve the pain in her arm and shoulders for carrying the deer down the spiral staircase.

Dardanos smiled and caught the deer in his hands, placing it on the ground before standing up. He was glad she found a deer. Although it didn't compare to eating what he considered real food, it was his favorite wild animal to snack on. He watched for Cira to jump down, putting more dirt on the pile to soften her landing. He pondered just eating them both and the deer- after all he already had the deer and Aric, however he decided against it. He didn't want to continue rotting in this hole after they were gone. Perhaps they could get him out of here. He looked to his stomach. He probably should have not swallowed Aric if he wanted their assistance. He growled. On the other hand, if anything they were more likely to help him with threat of him killing them than if he just asked. He pulled at the chains once more. He had no idea how to get them to open. It might have to do with the orange glow of magic that came from patches on the wall, but he wasn't sure. It wasn't like he could really do anything about them himself, as he couldn't reach where the majority of them were. He sighed and waited for Cira to jump down.

Cira leaned over the edge to make sure her landing was safe before she jumped. She didn't feel any braver being here a second time. In fact she felt like a fool. Why hadn't she just taken Aric and run? It wasn't like he could follow her. Why did she decide to come back? Again she rolled breathless down the side of the pile of dirt. She smacked against the floor with a grunt. Cira only picked herself up onto her knees. She was tired and wanted the night to be over.
"Where's Aric?" she asked, her eyes scanning their surroundings. She expected to see him cowering in a corner somewhere.

Dardanos grinned, looming over her. "You took too long." He gestured to his stomach, which was protruding slightly more than normal. Leaning down closer to her, he moved to grab her but she was just out of his grasp again. "You can join him if you'd like..." He chuckled and opened his mouth wide, moving so that his mouth was inches in front of her face. The blood stains on his teeth were probably no condolence to her. "Although I doubt that he'll be too happy to see you... In fact I don't imagine that he's still able to feel anything at all." He taunted. He was a little too excited to see how she would react to think about how he would actually get Aric out of him smoothly. He considered swallowing her as well- then she could see that he was fine- but he didn't really think that would help his case of them coming back to help him or breaking him out of this prison.

She gaped up at him, her arms fell limp to her sides. Cira didn't feel like crying, although she felt like she was supposed to. But she felt sort of hollow and a deep sense of dread and sorrow washed over her. There was a sour taste in her mouth and she felt like she'd throw up at any moment. She felt like a failure.
Cira looked down, playing with her hands in her lap. "But...I...you promised." He did no such thing but those were the only words she could muster up. Her voice cracked when she spoke.
"I don't like liars," she mumbled, wiping nonexistent tears from her eyes. "I hope you rot down here forever."

Dardanos growled. He wasn't expecting her to give up, and he certainly wasn't expecting her to act all cute-like and disappointed. He frowned and turned away from her. "You're no fun." He lurched forwards and held at his throat, before making a noise that sounded like organs being squished and torn apart and producing Aric from his mouth. Holding him in his hand, he dropped him in front of her. He wasn't quite sure what to say and he didn't really care enough to comfort her further, so he waited for her response. Other than probably being traumatized, Aric was fine.

Cira scrambled towards Aric and wrapped her arms around him as he sat there wide-eyed and shaking. He didn't say anything and she didn't complain about how disgusting he felt and smelled. Aric buried his face into her shoulder and she rubbed his back to comfort him. "I'll never leave you behind again, I swear."
Aric was still frozen stiff. He hardly moved. He had yet to truly register what had just happened but at least he was alive and his sister hadn't completely abandoned him.
"Thank you," she said, glancing up at Dardanos. "At least he's not dead." That was the important part. She'd deal with his trauma and anger for being left for dead later. Cira smiled, rocking slightly as she held onto Aric. She should have known better than to leave him. She hadn't been thinking. It wouldn't happen again.

"Hmph." Dardanos wasn't sure how to respond to that. He turned his attention to the deer instead. He picked it up and bit down on it, crushing it's bones and sending blood splattering on Cira and Aric. His tongue wrapped around it's middle and it disappeared down his throat quickly. Looking back over to them, he noticed the blood that had gotten on them. "I'll get that." He leaned down and licked the blood off of them, before picking them up. "What's your name?" He asked, looking at Cira. He wondered if Aric would calm down. He could use his breath to try and intoxicate him into calming down. He wondered if that would make them more likely to agree to helping him out.

Aric at least reacted to being moved and ending up gripping onto Cira as he cowered behind her. He was mumbling to himself but she couldn't quite understand him. Cira's initial fear of Dardanos was starting to fade. Just a little bit. If anything she was annoyed with being toyed with. She hadn't minded the blood, after all she did hunt for a living. She had minded being licked and picked up. She didn't complain, however. She rather not be the next to be swallowed and watching him eat the deer had been downright gruesome.
"Cira," she said, puffing up her chest and trying to sound brave. "My name is Cira." She placed her hands on her hips as she looked up at his face. "I don't suppose you have a name?"
"I-Is now the time to be making conversation with...it?" Aric spoke finally. He was quiet and he stuttered, but at least he was speaking.
