Is anyone going to Anime California in Anaheim next month? It's their second year and from what I've heard the first was pretty rough, but this year they're supposedly at a different location with different management so hopefully it runs more smoothly. I'm still not sure if I'm going, but I though it'd be cool to have a discussion anyway.

Cool, maybe I'll see you there if I decide to go then. Anime Expo pretty much killed my wallet, which is the main reason I'm not sure I'll be able to make it.

I am definitley going, i din't go to anime expo mainly because i feel they are nickel and diming you. 2009 was the last time I went to anime expo, and back then it was great, everything was included with admission. It just feels like you are just paying to buy stuff, just my personal opinion.

I'll probably be there. Small conventions are really different (AX is beast now that it is so huge), but they can be much more fun if the people are right.

I went last year and thought it was a very cool con. I didn't have to pay for autographs, I was able to talk to a decent amount of people and best of all I was able to walk around freely without a giant horde of people smothering me. They had poolside events and even though it was small they had a wide variety of events I loved it.

The thing that caught my eye was Vic Mignogna as a guest this year. That is my dude.

NEAT! Please elaborate more about these poolside events. Are they actually con-related? or just people hanging out?

I doubt I'll be able to make it this year, but it sounds super cool. It's tricky; you need enough people and events to make it interesting, but when it gets as big as AX it's just a wall-to-wall body slam.

It'll be interesting to see what people report back from this. If it's good, I may have to check it out next year.
