Just as the title suggests will CR be getting the new Dragonball Super series?

I've become noticing a number of anime I want to watch aren't on Crunchyroll especially for the Summer season. The first episode of Dragonball Super has aired but I don't see any sign of it coming to CR.

I'm asking myself the same thing, even Funi is not saying anything about it

There is a good chance Toei doesn't want to simulcast it. Keep in mind there was no simulcast of either part of Dragonball Kai, either.

I would be surprised if they did. I really really hope they do though.

Most likely not.

There's been no interest from Toei to give CR any license to air the Dragonball franchise. I don't see how Super will be any different.

All I can say is not a simple manner of winning money, they actually are LOSING MONEY because, no matter how they think or their policies, piracy sites are gonna stream the show. And the demand, since is inelastic, will make ppl to go to these sites and watch it there, pretty simple.

The only way they had for loyal fans who want to support the show/company was to stream it (even if its a small portion of the fanbase, it was money to their pockets and the artists behind Dragon Ball). If they want piracy to win over the millions of fans that now use the internet to watch anime is their lose.

Is pretty moronic imo, I really hope the guys who are deciding this turn on their only neuron and let fans who wants legit stuff to enjoy the show and let us support them in the process.

If anyone gets it, it'd be Funimation.

I just can't see this from their perspective how does not allowing a legal streaming site to stream the show benefit them in any way? People that want to watch it will watch it on illegal streaming sites. Do they hate money or do they have something against people outside of japan watching it?

They'll likely sell it to Funi so the can sell it to TV broadcasters and make far more money than what a internet streaming site could pay them.

Closing this thread because there's already a thread for speculative discussion about this. See:
