Any bands/solo singers of the idol genre? And if so what's your favorite?

Ehh I listened to some AKB48 out of curiosity. Doing some research on them I find it kinda creepy and cult-like.

AKB48 read up on this. Some Fundamentalist christian type shit happening there.

Also I find it kinda creepy that they market alot of these underage girls to alot of older men. Like the whole phone communication thing where these older men can talk to the members. Just weird.

Sure the music is all cure, but what I dislike about all this idol stuff is the dark stuff that happens behind the scenes.

Shaving one's head and being demoted just for spending a night out with a guy is extremely excessive.

From what I see, the big idol agencies see idols as disposable marketing tools that they overwork until they are too old, boot them, and bring in new ones.

Don't dislike the idols, but I dislike the agencies.

I'm a huge Idol fan. It's why I got into Love Live, Uta Prince, and WUG (and plan on getting into Idolmaster eventually). Best of two of my favorite things: Idols and anime.

Minimoni is my all time favorite group but for current groups, I'm mainly into Nogizaka46, Momoiro Clover Z, Tokyo Girls' Style, Angerme, and Muse. Idols are one of my main hobbies so I listen to a lot of different acts, my head is spinning just trying to throw names out there of the acts I like and keep occasional tags on: Sakura Gakuin and their subunits (Babymetal, Twinklestars, Logica?), Kikkawa You, Station, Team Syachihoko, Yui Ogura, YuiKaori, Country Girls, Morning Musume, Dempagumi Inc., Fairies, Chubbiness, and I was a big fan of Buono when they were active.

I've been hot and cold on 48G the past few years, they can still produce some bops but a lot of my faves have graduated, I don't care for a lot of the new gen, and I'm fed up with a lot of their gimmicky antics (though the elections are still pretty exciting). But I still love and regularly listen to their older music particularly the Defstar era and stage stuff and their subunits and soloists: Watarirouka Hashiritai, Not yet, and Takahashi Minami being among my favorites.

Yeah, I'm into the 48ers vs MoMu, but I wouldn't exactly call myself a wota.

I remember reading about that when I was 14. Dark stuff.

Also the Based God sampled her on a track.
