About a week ago, American company MegaBots challenged Japanese company Suidobashi Heavy Industries to a robot duel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVJTGLL2SnI

suidobashi has accepted the challanged but have insisted that melee combat be part of the fight.

Who do you think will win?
Would you watch it?
Should there be a robot fighting world Championship?

-Suidobashi
-Definitely
-God yes

What do you think?

Japan is the world leader in robotics and AI... So it's not that hard to figure out who'll win

America is going to win easily. Because we're America. And we always win.

^ This.

This isn't some stupid soccer game.
It's now the battle of the brains, Japanese engineering prowess vs the U.S, I would bet on Japan any day of the year.

Japan is the world's leading country in robotic and A.I research.

U.S.A doesn't stand a chance in blue hell.

The U.S succeeding in sports doesn't surprise me, this country has always had a weird religious like obsession over non important bullshit (sports), and we always seem to excel in that regards, but science and engineering? HAHAHAHAH! F*CK NO!

We're in Japan's hood now.

From the looks of it, Megabots has an advantage because that's what their machine is made for, fighting. Kuratas is really just a car with hands and a riot shield/bottle shooter add on.

Do realize, these things have human pilots, so ai isn't necessary. Experience with robot mechanical design tough... Yeah Japan has an edge there :-)

You all underestimate America. 239 years running best country in the world. WE are America.

that's an awfully short time window considering this is robotics and all...this will be interesting to watch.

Both robots are already developed, all that's needed to be done is the rules, location and security stuff so they don't end up dying

speed, speed is everything, when kurata's maker said they wanted 'melee'....they will have to up the movement speed on the wheels and vertical+horizontal movement arm on the kurata's
megabots best way to counter this is by upgrading its torso turning speed and both arm cannon horizontal sway/turning speed, that is the most important parts if they want to use long range weaponry.eg:like a modern tank.
kurata's will need alot more work,R&D if they choose to play it melee, alot lot more work.

thank you op for posting this, did not know about this challenge until ive read this.
