America's looks like it's all about the guns but probably can't move well, which is why Japan would want 'melee' or more motion stuff.

Depends on who spends more money on this project and puts it as a priority.

The winner is me because I get to watch this awesomeness happen. Japan has been focusing making more lifelike robots and suited for interacting with people. The U.S. has been focusing development on more rugged design and military use. All in all it should be one awesome fight.

idk what the american guys were initially thinking when they asked for the fight. If the jap guys didn't suggest melee or something like that i can imagine them bringing the two robots to stand there and shoot at each other with just BB guns until they both run out of ammo. real lack of scope/imagination on their part and i'm glad that's been fixed up now

but rant over, pacific rim is happening and it's going to be amazing. they should bring in other countries as well

This is why I got a degree in robotics... I just need to find some way to do it!

Japan has the advantage of naming the battlefield
The Japanese want to use melee so I'm betting it''ll be a labarynth of walls that nullify the American's guns.

Japan is the world leader in robotics and AI... So it's not that hard to figure out who'll win

^ This.

This isn't some stupid soccer game.
It's now the battle of the brains, Japanese engineering prowess vs the U.S, I would bet on Japan any day of the year.

Japan is the world's leading country in robotic and A.I research.

U.S.A doesn't stand a chance in blue hell.

The U.S succeeding in sports doesn't surprise me, this country has always had a weird religious like obsession over non important bullshit (sports), and we always seem to excel in that regards, but science and engineering? HAHAHAHAH! F*CK NO!

We're in Japan's hood now.

These comments are just strange. USA's aerospace engineering is very good and they make extensive use of drones. The guy in the video mentioned Mississippi, as well, which has a very good reputation for engineering education.

Military tech is kind of USA's forte and has been ever since World War II.

May the best company win and all, but it's just crazy to suggest that the USA is bad at engineering.

I think some of these comments are greatly underestimating the U.S. prowess in robotics, after all, we make quite an extensive use of military drones. Heck, any of you guys heard of Boston Dynamics? go watch some of their videos on Youtube and see what kind of stuff they are working on.

Gotta say America. I mean, this is fighting we're talking about? Last I checked 'Murica ain't gonna lose to nobody in a fight *puts on sunglasses*. In all honesty, who cares? It's a giant robot duel! I'm pretty sure everyone wins here. But yeah, still gonna bet on America just cause.
