My poor bank account is still suffering from me buying things off of Amazon and Hot Topic before I heard about the sale Amazon would be having.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of lingerie in the flash sales. Hopefully they're not that lame when it comes to the actual sale.

I don't really have much I need to buy but if it's something I plan on getting in the future and it happens to be on sales, then I'll probably get it.

I don't have prime and I doubt there'll be a sale on anything I want. There never is.

Meh, I like using the Prime service. While it's sad the company abuses its workers (and I've actually seen it) it's not my problem and plenty of companies do this. The workers need to do something about it or find a new job. I highly doubt anything will happen though given how large Amazon has become. I may or may not take advantage of this sale. Depends on if I need anything that actually gets a discount. Amazon is useful for me since I don't have a lot of time to drive around getting things. Hell, I only get on CR while I'm at work lol. Thank you multiple monitors!

So now for some more input by me who right now is a low toad. My job is at a sort center we receive boxes from the fulfillment center and sort by zipcode most of the next day prime packages. Reading some of the links cited above I see the reactions that have been taken by the company to answer some of the issues. For example heat the place has A/C the sort center was formally a Publix supermarket distribution center there are large exhaust fans from back then. So way back when there were just fans and Poblix is generally stated to be one of the best companys to work for in Florida so back then no A/C. There are water coolers at the end of each sort line and we have are you hydrated color charts in the rest rooms. I would say the warehouse runs about 85 degreesF max. There is also gatorade on tap for free in the break room. Wages aren't insanely high but run about $2/hr more than Mickey. Mickey btw pays a whole nickel an hour more than Seaworld for seasonal part time work. Remember the Mouse is the areas largest employer.
As far as safety goes we are harped about every day. When I first got the notice that they wanted to hire me I thought handling boxes all day I better get a good pair of gloves, but first thing I got was very nice pair of gloves, which came with a safety visibilty vest and an arm sleeve to prevent the scanner from chaffing your arm. There is a vending machine on the floor that you can use your badge for a free replacement. Most of people that had previous warehouse experience say that the safety is way above where they used to work. I get the feeling that most of the accidents are extremely minor and most seem to happen during the night shifts. Most likely they are things that a bandage from the the on-site paramedic. We do get harped on not to try catching a falling box since what ever is in the box will cost less to replace than the workman's comp. Getting squashed by a PIT or having a fire sort of goes with the territory . With something so big with so many employees metabolic by-product happens. My old Japanese landlady's daughter just got hit by a bus in downtown Miami walking from the light rail station to work good reason to avoid mass transit?
As far as the work goes do they push you? yes. You begin to understand what is going on and start going Hai, hai. For example my scan rate is averaging around 120/hr the target is 150/hr and the center has a best scan rate of over 400! On a side spur where I have to put boxes on a pallet (max5 pallets as opposed to the main line with up to 50)by myself or with one other person I once broke 180 and can pretty easy do 150. The thing I noticed is at first I tended to get shifted between lines a lot now when there is a call for help on another line. Now I get no you stay here from the guy with the blue vest. You see most likely the guy or gal in the blue vest is being watched to see how well the line is moving. If I make them happy then everybody's happy. Of course your best friend and worst nightmare on the line are the vets, the people with blue badges wearing their Peak t-shirts. They are the people that are going to bitch about your work to the blue vests but if they like you they give you hints like if you need to log out on the scanner and take a break that's what everyone else is doing. Recently I got put on the side spur with one of them. When a girl came to help us she gruffly said "go back we don't need help!" At the end of the shift she said it was a pleasure working with me. SENPAI NOTICED ME! Means more to me than something from a blue vest.
So please buy something next day I could use the money!

That sale was so terrible. They only give discounts on select items that are old or discontinued items. I was hoping it would be a site-wide sale since they advertised it so darn much...

The Amazon Prime Day was a joke. Unless you're interested in buying bulk women's underwear or cheap jewelry, there was nothing on sale. I seen one video game (that was created for people above the age of 4 years old) on sale and it was all taken within seconds. In fact, every item in my 250 item shopping cart went up in price today.

That being said, I did buy a 5 lb bag of gummy worms for $11.92 instead of the usual $14. They've probably been sitting in Amazon's warehouse for four years, but I'm hoping they'll be good tasting.

Only glanced at it. Seemed very boring, a bunch of random items on sale at specific time periods throughout the day, designed to try and make hype and get people to look at dozens of different items and encourage them to buy stuff from all over the site instead of maybe the 1 thing they normally go for at a time.

I don't feel like camping out for Item X to show up ...

EDIT: I expect it has a lot of basis as a "help us clean out our warehouses day."
