I prefer to stay legal, and Crunchyroll seemed like the best legal site with the highest quality videos. It also helped that it was free too.

It's pretty much been all I've used now for the past two years besides Netflix for Steins;Gate and FMA.

The ads for Crunchyroll was everywhere & I couldn't get away from it! On New Year's Day, I decided to sign up (thank goodness it was for free) & haven't look back.

Well, I tired it out, back when this site, was still a fan site, before it became legit. It had Initial D, my favorite anime, and I watched it on here, as well as some others.

I don't specifically remember, but I think it showed up as one of the sites on a web search several years back when I was looking for anime streaming sites. Have run into a lot of bad ones full of adds and viruses over time. I really liked the clean format, simple interface, and relative ease of searching the catalog titles. Initially was just a free user, but decided it was worth a few dollars each month to get full access with no commercials.

For some reason I randomly remembered how I used to read Galaxy Express 999 in either Manga Max or Animerica... so I googled it and found it streaming on Crunchy for free... once I saw their commercials for AoT it was over from there.

The final episode of Kill la Kill was up here for premium users before it was fan subbed. I bit the bullet and subscribed. Never looked back.

Saw an ad and wanted to try it out. I really wanted to start watching more anime instead of watching Tooami block which it only came on saturday mornings. I'm thinking about switching to hulu. lol

I started back when Bleach was a thing. Before that i was watching Bleach on a few websites. It always annoyed me that i would get on a role watching 6-8 episodes of bleach and have to switch from site to site in order to do it. If the Video wasn't down for anything from Copyright, to bandwidth being exceeded, blocked in my country (i live in the US so go figure). It was the crappy quality of the fan subs. You'd watch the same episode from 3 different Subbers and each have variances on translation. Then the Advertisements OMFG each time you would load up a new episode you had a minimum of 4-5 Ad's surrounding the player as well as a myriad up and down the sides you couldn't tell what was actual content and what was Ad's.

Found Crunchyroll and saw that they had a system to earn free subscriptions through completing tasks. Done this a few months and decided it was a pain in the ass to earn up $10 a month and meet the quota. Then started doing the monthly subs then 3 month and finally saved up for the year subscription and the rest is history.

Why i stay? The Queue for one. readily available episodes of 20-35 simulcast episodes each season, mobile availability, and majorly reliable. Also what i don't get to watch here i watch on fansub so not having EVERY available anime for stream is no problem.
