So, last minute I was able to free up my schedule to attend Otakon in a couple of weeks. This will be my first Anime convention.

I have been to comic book conventions for years, from small one-day events at hotels to large convention center faire such as C2E2 in Chicago.

However, I have not been to a con period since 2011 and i have never been to an anime con, plus from what I am reading online, this is one of the biggest cons period on the east coast.

Just looking for some tips and tricks, what I should be looking for to do, etc.

I know the basics, comfy shoes, bring snacks and water, etc.

What my goals are:

#1 meet cool people, maybe make some new friends and connections. Recently moved and kinda starting over in life at my mid 30's

#2 to pick up some cool Gunpla I might not get elsewhere.

#3 find some deals on PVC/Figma type figures, I want to start collecting them to go along with my comic books and gunpla collections.

#4 try and get some commissioned artwork in my sketchbook and/or get some cool prints/wall scrolls/etc.

#5 to hopefully find some things I didn't even know existed that are quirky and cool.

#6 Maybe get some autographs and free/cheap con swag.

Anyways, I hope someone has some pointers and suggestions for me.

Thanks in advance!
