I have not been able to view any video on Crunchyroll for the past few days. No video loads for me, but the video player controls still show up. The video player displays --:--/--:-- instead of the episode length for every video. Ads still load if I sign out of my account, but the video issues still persist.

I am using a Windows 7 PC with a strong wifi connection. I also have the same problem when using my Windows 8 laptop on the same wifi connection. However, I am still able to watch normally on my Android phone via the Crunchyroll app on the wifi connection. I have no issues with other video streaming sites.

I've tried just about every proposed solution I could find, including:

Uninstalling/reinstalling Flash Player and using multiple internet browsers
Disabling any add-ons/extensions on my browsers
Updating graphics drivers
Clearing my internet cache and the Flash Player cache
Changing my DNS to multiple different servers
Trying different combinations of Flash Player settings on all internet browsers
Verifying my connection to the Crunchyroll servers using ping/tracert in the command prompt

I'm really stumped as to what the issue could be, and I was hoping that someone might have a few more possible solutions I could try before I give up on this. I've tried searching through old threads as best as I could, but nothing has worked so far.

Thanks!

Does your network broadcast in the n band ? I ran into the issue with my new router that wouldn't play any video . Have an n wireless card in pc . I had to change the router settings to use the lower setting . It slowed down my signal to 72mb , but it would allow videos to play . It only affected CR . Netflix & Funimation had no issue with the faster speed , only CR . But now I'm back to the stuttering , freezing and black screens myself . makes you wonder why we pay for sub-par service... BTY , I did all you did too & support is absolutely no help at all..

Thanks for the suggestion.

My network was being broadcasted at the N rate. I lowered it down to the G rate but I'm still running into the issue. I also disabled the N rate on my wireless card just to make sure that wasn't the issue. I'll keep messing around with those router settings and see if anything changes.

I haven't used Crunchyroll in the last few months, but I have used this account to watch videos without any problem before.

I've noticed in the last week and a half a lot of loading issues - or not loading at all of videos . Hell , I'm having trouble with Gintana and it's only 480p ! When I couldn't stream in the living room I went to my gaming rig to try . It had trouble loading Gate & My Wife is the President . That pc is wired directly to the router !

I think the loading issue effects people differently since I know I haven't really had any loading problems in the last week and a half.

Was this with 1 of your PCs and/or laptops that u were able to watch before with, and was it with the same router u have now?

Also, would u be able to wire directly either your PC or laptop to the router, and see if u can play a video?

Yes, I was able to watch videos on my laptop before. However, this is probably the first time I've tried using CR on this particular wifi connection and router. I just tested both my PC and my laptop on the wired connection (which is also the connection plugged into the router) and the same issue was still there for both of them.

It could very well a connection issue between you and the CDN serving our streams for PC.
Do you have any mobile or home entertainment device that you could try one of our apps on? The apps use a different CDN.

Yes, the mobile app for Crunchyroll works fine on my phone. It works both on my 4G connection and my wifi.

Do the web streams start if you use your phone as a mobile router via USB? Just test briefly as to not waste packets - or even try sharing the wifi connection to the pc via the phone? If the latter works it might be a local network issue even.

Using my Android phone as a hotspot allowed me to watch videos normally on both my laptop and desktop. I couldn't tell if I was connected to my 4G connection or my wifi when creating the hotspot, does it make a difference which one I'm using? Let me know if I can test anything else or find any other information for you. Glad to see we're finally getting to the bottom of this!!

If it was the 4G connection you shared it means that your local network (PC/router) is the issue. If it was the wifi connection you shared it's a problem with the wired connection.

I double checked and it's definitely the 4G which is being shared. If my local network is the problem, I'm confused as to why I can use the Crunchyroll mobile app on my wifi just fine, but I can't watch videos from Crunchyroll's website on my PC with the same wifi connection. What exactly is wrong with my network?

It's probably something on your PC that is blocking it. A software firewall? A browser addon? A router rule that only affects wired connection? A bandwidth manager tool? A recently updated network driver? An ad-blocker?
