You'll see Asian people of different races chillin' with each other in America, Canada, Australia, etc but little do you know, the motherland Asian countries are ignorant to each other's cultures (besides rice eating and taking shoes off, etc lawl). They all think about a stereotype of each other.

The American Asians just have a cultural mix, whatever the heck their blood is from + American culture. So, we're always friendly with each other

Long story short, my understanding is that lots of Asian countries have a long list of reasons to hold grudges against at least some of the other Asian nations. Including Japan. The fact that some of those reasons are over a century (or two) old, doesn't seem to be considered a good reason to take any items off any of said lists.

Japan currently takes it on the chin for several reasons. First, there are still people alive who remember some of the horrors they committed before surrendering to the Americans. Second, due to their ambitions (and their power), the Japanese people of that era managed to commit those acts against just about every group in (or with an interest in) Asia. (American soldiers weren't the only westerners who learnt that surrendering to Japanese forces could be an extremely bad idea.) Third, the Japanese government and troops of that era seemed to want to check (at least once, but practice makes perfect!) each and every item on the Atrocity List; "medical experimentation", "comfort women", the rape of Nanking, ect .... Fourth, Japanese (high level) politicians (to the best of my knowledge) have never offered apologies for these acts - and normally won't admit that they happened (or at least were as bad as everyone else says). [IMO, it would be kill the career - and probably bring down their party come the next set of elections - of any one that did admit that their ancestors did commit these acts. So don't hold your breath of this changing.] Finally, due to the fourth point I mentioned, Japanese school textbooks tend to gloss over (or fail to mention at all) the reasons why people in other Asian countries are still furious with Japan over actions taken in that error.

As for the conduct of the Western powers (with America ending up with the lion share of soliders) in Asia during that era, I feel that a lot of things were done that were wrong. (Not the least being the treatment of American citizens of Japanese decent after Pearl Harbour. Particularly since they were never compensated for what they lost, let alone the time they (even the children) spent in the holding facilities they were herded into.) It's just that, for the most part, America of that era was still less reprehensible than Japan during that era; in the same way that being hung from nearest tall tree is generally better than drawn and quartered.

Still, I have to wonder if this latest move by China is due to the territorial disputes with Japan, or just a way for the old men in Beijing to keep attention focused on something other than whatever is happening behind the bamboo curtain at this time. Either way, you'd think that they'd come up with something a touch more believable.

Nah China you aint got nothing to fear.

US military backing is the true military strength behind Japan.

The US is only allied to Japan, that doesn't mean they're backing them. If China went to war whit Japan then I highly doubt the US would go to war whit them. As of right now Japan have a contract whit the US that doesn't allow it to have a military outside it's self defense force and I'm well aware of the fact that Japan have in recent years tried to break that contract.
Nah dude, that's not how it works, our 7th Fleet is stationed there for a reason. So if China attacked Japan, they would literally be attacking the U.S. as well. We've also wanted them to build up their military for a long while, as well as revise their constitution (which they somewhat have, now allowing them to defend other countries).

China is stupid. It is a**-backward either by necessity or habit but it is a**-backward.

*Aims missiles at Taiwan* Hey you guys belong to us! Right? Right?! Oh, and you can't compete in the Olympics under the name "Taiwan" and can't use the Taiwanese flag. You're "Chinese Taipei" now. For f***'s sake...

*Exports loads of cheap and tainted goods* We want to be known for quality! To make it so that Chinese products are famous for quality!

*Sends ships into the sea of Japan* Ours!

A Japanese dude sold his undeveloped private island to his (the Japanese) government. China throws a fit suddenly and says that it is their island even though they seemed totally fine with it when it was privately owned by a Japanese citizen.

Yes and they extoll the benefits of having a lot of smog.

*Buys food at Costco and eats half or uses a purchased tool/device but returns everything 2 weeks later* We weren't satisfied even though we ate most of the cake and used this blender for 2 weeks. Refund me!

Gettin' real tired of your s***, China. Seriously, f*** you and your bully behavior.

Not all Asian countries hate each other, although some do. We (Taiwan) love Japan and South Korea and get along with the Phillipines and Indonesia. Everyone hates China, though. Who can blame them...

I'm pretty anti-China, just FYI. Not changing my stance anytime soon unless I see significant improvement. Hated China since I was young enough to understand politics and it has only gotten worse over the last decade. The people are classless and have no manners no matter how rich they are, they complain about the conditions in China but bring China with them wherever they go, and they refuse to adapt to the culture of whatever new societies they join. Annoying. They don't even want to sign standard business contracts because they take it personally and interpet them to mean you don't trust them, but they deliberately screw you later anyway BECAUSE there is no contract. My family has had this happen too many times and we've lost hundreds of thousands because of them. We've suffered greatly at their hands. Only the ones who have adapted are worth associating with. The majority of the rest are like barbarians. They are untrustworthy, uncultured, unappreciative, unrefined, and callous.

TBH, I can understand if you are viewing this from afar and thinking I'm extreme but, as a proud Taiwanese who has had a lot of experience with the Chinese, I can tell you that I probably know stuff about them that westerners will never understand. To me, this is quite possibly personal and no amount of social justice paradise logic will sway me in this case unless you have experience dealing with them. We've given them too many chances.

I'm sorry I failed to live up to your lofty expectations. I know what I know and I've experienced what I've experienced. That is all. I edit my posts quite frequently, it's nothing new and it beats double posting.

I don't post to please anyone in case you still need a heads-up after responding to numerous other posts of mine over the past year with pointless comments that I've ignored until now lol

If I sound awful, perhaps that's because I am. Or maybe I just dealt with too many sh***y ones. Interpret it as you will. It's not my job or my intent to please people with my posts. Maybe this hatred is one of my flaws, maybe it isn't. But give me something constructive to work with so that I might overcome my hatred and maybe I'll listen then. I'm always open to thoughtful and practical suggestions. Good night to you, too.

China is heavy with anti-Japanese propaganda. Selling a Gundam robot as something real and threatening is part of it.
Meanwhile China builds man-made islands to extend their reach into the sea, expanding their territory and military.
Japanese imperialism did some bad things to China during the first half of the last century so modern Japan makes for a good bad guy to put forth to the Chinese people.

What China's military is currently doing is building up it's NAVY so they can send them around the world kinda like the US. So if anything then they should use the US as a target for their propaganda since they already got what they're trying to build.

Also I really don't think anyone is so stupid that they'll beleave in this, I know Chinese people isn't stupid enough to believe this since Gandam has been sold in their country for years and suddenly it's a evil thing... Hence why I think this is plain stupidity from Chinese authorities

Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution

"a clause in the National Constitution of Japan outlawing war as a means to settle international disputes involving the state. The Constitution came into effect on May 3, 1947, following World War II."

"In July 2014, the Japanese government approved a reinterpretation which gave more powers to its Self-Defence forces, allowing them to defend other allies in case of war being declared upon them, despite concerns and disapproval from mainland China and South Korea, whereas the United States of America supported the move. " -wikipedia

There is some debate about article 9 in Japan.

Lol damn, but its ok China I'm sure the Red Comet will join your side.

For people saying Japan should apologize for war crimes back in WW2 I have news for you they already have multiple times to many nations including China. If you simply search for it in Google you will find a giant list of apologies the Japanese government has made over the past 50-60 years.
