The Hairy Hand

Admittedly, the title sounds like a silly thing that kids create once they hit puberty, but it's quite an interesting tale.

As the story goes, it happened in Veracruz (Mexico) during colonial times. The most strange and unexplainable murders; several people appeared strangled, with no other marks save five holes that seemed produced by clawed fingers. This was told by a man at that time, that was invited by a Spaniard nobleman, to spend some time with him in his luxurious home.

The noble Spaniard was a weapon collector and a duelist, he showed the narrator of the story his collection when, amongst sabers and pisols, he spotted a human hand cut at the wrist. Blackish, dry, covered in horrible hair, that seemed like animal fur, with hardened yellowish nails.

The narrator asked the Spaniard where he got such a hand, he told him "it belonged to my worst enemy, I cut it with an axe, and let it dry for 8 days. It's always trying to escape, I need to keep it under chain"

The strange crimes kept happening, until one day, the narrator was awakened by his servant, who told him that the noble Spaniard had been murdered during the night. Upon entering his house, he saw the Spaniard's body, lying face-down on the floor. The entire place was trashed. And on his neck, the Spaniard's corpse had 5 holes.

Struck with fear, the narrator ran to the place in the house where the hand was being kept; it was gone. Some months later, the narrator was assaulted by nightmares, where the terrible hand moved like a hell spider, at great speed, climbing up the walls, curtains and ceiling of his house.

They say that the hand was finally spotted, on the grave of the Spaniard. It is said that, until this day, the hand appears at random, killing people every now and then.

So, it seems to me that, if this were to be true, it seems that the Spaniard's enemy was an evil sorcerer or "brujo", that somehow locked a demon into his corpse hand. It also seems more likely that, rather than the hand physically running up and down everywhere (which would take incredible amounts of energy for the demon), it probably moved on the astral plane, that is, more ghostly, and affected the astral body of the victim, which resulted in the marks on the physical body.

Hands have been used in questionable practices in many instances.

I hope you enjoyed the creepy legend

That's interesting and does make feel creep out.

I heard a few stories around I lived in the south state of Georgia, USA.

I was told about the "White Thing" which was called because they couldn't make it out what creature it was. They can only describe it has a half goat and half bear. The back legs of a goat and the front had huge bear claws. It's head of a goat and the rest of the body a bear and the size was massive.

Hunters would take their bloodhounds and hunt animals like raccoons, ect. They had 36 bloodhounds to track down the White Thing. They had to search all over the woods to find it. They already let the bloodhounds loose in the dense dark woods. Well, it couldn't be found, but they found one bloodhound survived coming back with a huge claw mark on it's side. The rest of the bloodhounds was massacred. The hunters took the surviving bloodhound out of there with them and bother the White Thing.

I was told this story more than once by my late grandmother and it's been one of my favorites. I'm trying to remember the other stories about it. I live close by where the massacre of the dogs happened. At least the hunters were safe.

------

Another story I was told by my late grandmother was the story of the Lantern's Light. The story took place in the late 1800s.

Close by where I live, there was a mysterious light that would wander down the same path at night on certain dates. The story behind the Lantern's Light was about a man and his pregnant wife. They were poor and live deep in the woods near a small town. The man's wife went into labor. The man being poor, walked on foot to get a doctor in the nearby town.

He wandered in the dense woods with the Lantern for light. He finally reach the town and got the doctor. The doctor and the man rode back in wagon and horse. When they arrive it was too late. The pregnant wife died in childbirth. It sadden the man that he committed suicide.

-----

The last story is kind of a long one. but my late grandma has experience this herself along with her 3 siblings.

A woman upstate New York moved to Georgia and married a wealthy man that was from here. Her house is just down the road from me to this day. It's old and worn down. The time they built it was in early 1900's. The man and woman married and had a son. Years later the man was having an affair. He didn't want to be married to her anymore.

Back in the day, a divorce was looked down upon. It was forbidden to get a divorce due to Christianity. One day something happened where the town folks were saying they haven't seen the woman with red hair from New York. Rumors spring up after the man remarried with the woman he was having an affair with.

People say he killed her and place her body somewhere. No one knew what really happen and thought she might have return to New York.

My late grandma, older sister, and two little brothers heard the story from my granddaddy. He warned them not to go into the abandoned house because Old man Brussels would get them. Old man Brussels own the house, but no one lived in it. The house was kept in better condition back then today.

Like little kids to they don't listen to their parents. lol My late grandma and her three siblings went in the house. They were noisy and looked until they saw a well. It was an old well with rocks patterned around the hole. My great aunt saw something that looked like a rope and pulled it. At the end of the rope was a huge trunk. They manage to heave it out of the well. Once they saw red hair sticking out the closed truck, my great aunt pushed it back in the well. They ran home screaming.

Now, they knew what happen to her. She never went back to New York. That happen in the early 50s.

-------

I hope I didn't scare anyone. I wish I can remember more...

Wow! Those are pretty scarey jackrabbit Thanks for sharing those, getting scared is part of purpose of reading these things anyway.

The first story certainly seems to have something to do with demons; goat with bear combo, you could also argue some sort of mutant, but it just seems so unlikely because of the body combination.

The Lantern's Light story sounds like a Will 'o the Wisp creature, usually mixed up with someone's death. Will 'o Wisps or Will 'o the Wisps are mysterious entities that could either save a traveler that got lost at night, or lead him to his doom.

The third story seems more appropriate for the Real experiences thread, because I doubt your grandma would lie about such a gruesome discovery.

Pretty creepy stories indeed

I love hearing her stories, but it's been years that I can remember them all. I remember she also said that the woman with red hair used to walk down the road with two German shepherds for an afternoon walk. My mom said she seen a woman with red hair walking down the road with those two German Shepherds. My mom stopped and ask the woman if she needed a lift to anywhere and the woman responded,"No, I live in that house right there." My mom saw the house what she was talking about. She remembered that no one lived there and thought that Old man Brussel was renting it out or sold it. Later, My mom told my grandma what happen. My grandma couldn't speak at first. It was the same woman that died and was thrown in the well, but she's been died years before my grandma was ever born which my grandma was born in 1957. I wish I can remember the date that woman died on. lol

I remember going is my bf and his sister and her bf to a church at night. It's illegal to go to a graveyard at night, but it was around the corner where my mom lives. I really wanted to go cause I heard how haunted it is. So, we finally went. It's the same graveyard that my grandmother was buried in. Anyways, I saw nothing which disappointed me. My mom saw a man during the day one afternoon. She said he was on an old tractor in the middle of the field. He got off and turn and wave at her, she didn't think anything of it and wave back. When she turn and went about what she was doing she turn back again and saw no one there, not even the man's tractor. My grandma explained to her that was someone my granddaddy knew that past away in the 70s. (I wish I could remember his name) I wanted to see if anything in the graveyard as I've heard couple things about it. Well, I didn't see anything, but my bf's sister did and she freaked out. We had to go because she was getting all tear eyed. So, we left and went to my mom's. My bfs sister explained that a man with overalls and a straw hat looked tired like he just got off from work and set on a grave and he vanish in thin air. My mom then told her that was the same man she saw on the tractor many years ago that go off and waved at her. Iol I really wish I remember his name and I really really wish that I saw him with my own eyes.

The last one I remember right now was about my dad's friend and his friend was driving down a road in the next town over where I live. They were driving around midnight and I think my dad said they just got back from a bar. I believe it was on a Saturday night. My dad said the man slam on breaks before a bridge. A woman in a wedding dress (he said it was not a plain dress but a wedding dress) cover in looks like blood was screaming and ran across the road. My dad thought at first that the man told him the story was playing around, but the man was seriously looking dead in his eye when he told them that story. He admit coming from a bar still drunk, but he knew what he saw.

I've been there to that bridge many many times during the day. I love going down those dirt roads because they are really spooky, but never at night. We had went, but we had to go back because my bf's sister at the time didn't like that idea. They live near there too, but she and her bf had to move.

The first two manifestations sound like actual human spirits, the third one sounds like a demon playing a trick though. They are all pretty interesting anecdotes

Sometimes, only certain can see the spirits, due to several factors; as you probably already know, sometimes, those things kinda blink in and out into perception, that's why ghost hunters try to capture their images with high-speed cameras, so, it's no wonder that you couldn't see them, it must have happened in a blink of an eye.

lol I would love to go to those places that they saw what they saw and capture it or try to capture it on camera, but I'm not going with my bf's sister, she'll spoil it.

In my hometown, there is a legend that says a the man who donated the school's land still haunts the school and also his house where his murder took place. Someone hanged him in his outhouse and tried to make it look like suicide a long time ago. Weird things do indeed happen in the school though, such as lockers flying open and contents flying across the room, weird noises (such as wails), and bouncing basketballs when there's no one there.

This stuff has happened while I was around and I absolutely flipped one time because I was all alone when it happened. Just thought I'd share it.

Also, I don't know if anyone has read The Mothman Prophecies or the Eighth Tower by John Keel, but there are some startling evidence in those books that I feel like you all would love.

That's pretty creepy and interesting, thanks for sharing that

I have heard all sort of things about the mothman, and had some experiences with similar beings, so I'm convinced that it's a demon; I'll keep those book titles in mind, thanks!

To me, I think maybe some sort of demon or advanced being as well.
The reason I say "advanced" is because I don't want to say an E.T.
Because as John Keel points out, who says these beings haven't
lived among us or around us since the beginning of time? On this Earth
instead of like another planet or something?

There are beings that lived even before that; don't ask me how I know

That's amazing, we definitely need to discuss more in depth.
What is your view on the Egyptian Pyramids?

I think that they shouldn't be where they are. They facilitate forbidden ceremonies of the pretty blasphemous kind. There are mages that have camped near them (at least about 20 years ago when they went there), lots of powerful seers in that one group, and they found out that they were pretty much larvae and demon magnets.

This urban legend, hm, I'm not sure if it's even a legend, or a creepypasta, or if it's even urban at all considering it supposedly happened in some woods

I've also seen it under various titles, such as "Four teens in the woods", Four missing teens" and The Photograph.

A lot of people say it's a creepypasta, others that it's actually true; but, even if it is fake, I'll use this chance to share it and point out some true things about wells inside abandonded houses.

"Four teens in the woods" aka "Four missing teens" and aka "The Photograph"

In the US, during the summer of 1950, four teenagers decided to go hiking into the woods. They eventually reached a sort of shack or stable, deep into the woods. They open the door and find an empty room, empty, save for a huge well or pond in the middle of the room.

At some point, three of them decided to enter the well, to refresh themselves. The fourth of them decided to stay outside, taking pictures. They were never heard from again.

In 1982, a person who was jogging through the woods finds an old kodak camera. The man takes the camera. He takes it to the police and they develop the film. Most of the material was ruined, but this is what the last picture showed:

It would be interesting if a photo analysis expert examined this pic to see if it was manipulated or something. It looks as if three of them are inside the water and their faces are nightmarishly distorted.

As to conjectures, having cabins or structures in the middle of the woods isn't unusual for certain practitioners of different occult methods, but the well inside makes me think the original owners were up to no good.

A well or pond inside a house, with a room completely dedicated to it, unless used to have a water reserve, is usually used to contact demons related to water. It's a tunnel that connects both worlds, to a certain degree. And even if it was mundane in nature, I wouldn't have a well room inside the house, as a vortex could be accidentally opened.

There are quite a few horror stories and paranormal cases related to wells or ponds inside structures, if one bothers to look for them.

What do you guys think of this story? Without further physical and psychical investigation, I'm inclined to believe it's fake because the photo is too perfect (it almost seems as if they are posing for the shot). Also, no witnesses and no specific location of where it happened? Pretty fishy, because it seems as if the woods and stable's location were to be common knowledge.

However, the bad quality of the photo could mean that it's not the complete picture, or that the angle is strange, it would seem as if the fourth teen was inside the water as well.

True or fake, it does hold some elements of true occultism when it comes to the well inside a structure.

I think I'll have a hard time getting to sleep tonight What about the teens parents? Did they report their teens missing to link the 4 missing teens to them? Maybe the people around that area may know that it's haunted.
