It's great in anime, etc.

-in reality, though, I'd rather swim in the sewers than in the public pool.

Hate all places involving swimming or water. For one I can't swim and just imagine what's happened in that water. I haven't willfully gone to one in how many years?

I haven't been to one in years but they were usually very clean.
Around here you have parents that allow their little kids to go into the lakes, they don't pay attention, the kids poop and we end up with e-coli problems.

Well seeing as I work as a swimming instructor in pools..... no not really, the chlorine is so strong it actually burns my leg hair off. So id say germs are no problem.

Depends on what pool you go to.

If it's one of those indoor pools in a YMCA, those tend to be clean but extremely overchlorinated.

I was a competitive swimmer, so I've been in high school pools and sporting complex pools. Those are pretty good.

I stay the hell away from public pools.
