java is blocked as well...
HTML5 is expensive so it'll take a while before changing.
Try Chrome
Enable NPAPI
Disable default flash chrome plugin
Enable macromedia flash (as we used to do it on firefox)
Enjoy...for now

It's blocked, but you can trivially add an exception for CR. It really isn't a big deal.

Frankly, it's about time that Firefox started blocking Flash by default.

From what I gathered at Crunchyroll's IAmA on Reddit a while ago, their hands are tied by the Japanese studios who insist on using Flash for its DRM protections.

One of CR's no HTML5 reasons was due to publishers saying no. Even though for the past 12 months I don't think many publishers would have minded. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=13222 (note Animelab is restricted to Australia and New Zealand.) every single title on that has HTML5. A number of which are found on here on some form.
If it was/is one/some of publisher/s why not duel stack and just not support whoever says no videos in HTML5 just flash...?

I wouldn't say HTML5 is expensive provided you know what you are doing you can make a very decent HTML5 player pretty darn easy (in a couple of months). Then it's a few other conversion tools from it's format to HTML5 files which I believe are like Mp4. It's likely more painful converting to flash. As flash was never meant to originally support video.

Looking at the CR jobs thing it does hint that they are looking for a new video player. One requirement "Strong Experience with C/C++, Objective-C, HTML5, JSON, XML, ActionScript." So maybe they are going to get a HTML5 player in the near future? (if they find someone.)

*sigh* I really hope they switch over. It might be my computer but I've tried almost everything to stop freezing and lagging during streams, and it's only improved a tad bit. I don't have any issues with YouTube or Funimation like I do with CR.

I did upgrades on both thanks to the Links on the Firefox Trouble shoot! And both are enabled now on my add ons!

So if you do the newest downloads / enable them on the browser add on settings !

As a sidenote I like HTML !

With the device cutbacks and such I am not expecting they are focused on making a new non flash player, but perhaps I am wrong and they are refocusing resources in that direction.

If people stop using Flash as industry and general adaptation of it goes down, they will have to, or risk their user-base. If it is the Japanese side that's ultimately behind the refusal to adopt html5 while persisting with Flash, sooner or later the fallout of that will fall on their lap as well. And chances are it will not be pretty.

This doesn't directly concern me, currently, as I do all my viewing 'off-site'(never been a stickler for restrictions). However that circumstance aside, at this point in time and in light of recent events, I have Flash disabled by default on my browsers and can see no reason to allow exceptions for sites, CR included.

One big player that doesn't use HTML5, and at last report had no plans to do so anytime soon, is Hulu.

As previously noted, while Funimation has an HTML5 player, it doesn't work in many browsers. Sophie (and admin at Funimation) recently explained that was because of the requirement the browser support HLS.

I would like to use HTML5 for videos without needing plugin so I wanted to uninstall the flash player due the security hole issues after I heard that firefox now blocked this flash player by default.
