Episode 1

The orphans sure have it rough there seeing that they have ben experimented on. Mikazuki is such a hard worker seeing that his hands got so dirty that he refused to shake Kudelia's hand. But in typical Gundam action, their peaceful home on Mars is invaded, and this time it comes in the way of a psycho commander from Earth, all while the MC finds a Gundam to save the day. Now it's off to a place where they truly belong. That's a pretty solid start there, and certainly it's nice to see Mika and company turning this bad situation into an opportunity of a lifetime. There's still lots I don't get, but an intriguing story is building.

Episode 1

Nice start for a Gundam show imo.

It has interesting technological aspects, a good amount of sci-fi warfare fiction, and the mecha designs looks neat. It's also one of the more serious anime that reminds me slightly of Gundam 00. I'm not sure I like Augus though because of his personality or at least the way he was talking to Aina.

The warfare themes were pretty interesting along with the story so far. Very interested to see where else this will go.
A good amount of action already with good choreography as well.

Is it also just me or are some of the characters really excited for combat? Lol exciting.

Very interesting first episode. I am surprised they set up so much in the first episode to be honest. I'm not feeling the MC yet, but I liked Orga and I have a feeling Kudelia will of course become stronger as the series goes on. At first I was getting major 00 vibes, but this doesn't feel like that at all now that I've seen the first episode. I have high hopes for this series. Plus the theme being done by Mon on a Mission helps too. I like their stuff.

Overall good launch to a new Gundam series.

This was a solid first episode. fight scene's pacing seemed a bit fast at times, and sometimes the writing was a bit on the nose, but otherwise good.

I think that the characters have potential as well. Kudelia is clearly very naive, but she also seems like she is going to work to better herself, so her character has the potential to be rewarding.

I'm interested in Mika and Orga's relationship as well, maybe it's just me, but it feels like Orga is a bit manipulative of Mika? Not that Orga comes across as evil, but Mika just seems to do whatever Orga says without question. My guess is that that will change over the course of the show.

That was a very good first episode. Established the main characters nicely. We've got Mika and Orga. Brawns and Brains. With Mika have an unflinching trust in orga. Going to be interesting to see the reason for this if it ever appears. But they are child soldiers working for a mercenary company along a bunch of others. The company using them as cheap fodder for whatever needs to be done and the discipline seems draconian.

And the third company they belong to is handpicked by some Mars noblewoman to act as an escort for a mission to earth in regards to Mars' indepndence from Earth. Obviously there is going to be resistance to that.

Gjallarhorn is Earth's organisation for maintaining order over the colonies it seems. And this is not the first time they've had to quell disorder on Mars either.

A nice battle between the Third Corps and the Gjallarhorn with bits from previous scenes working out nicely (mines and such) and we see the owners trying to leg it. But here we see Orga being the brains of the operation as he turns them into decoys to draw the attention of Gjallarhorn making things easier for them. Until the mobile suits hit. But then we get Barbatos thrown at them in return.

So yeah. Nice episode. lots of details and nice setup. Good world building as well i think without any clumsy exposition either.

Hope it can keep this up.

Episode 1

Already better than Reconguista.

This actually manage to gather more interest from me in one episode than Reconguista ever did in 26 episodes.

Ain't expecting too much from this series but so long as this ends up being better than Reconguista (not hard to accomplish) I'll be satisfied.

Sign. Guess I’ll have to wait a week to watch this. Can’t watch it on the GundamInfo channel due to Daisuki and can’t watch videos on Daisuki because of my “slow connection/network”.

I concur. Reconquista is my least favorite of all the Gundam series I have watched.

Have you tried Hulu? That's where I watched it. I have top tier speeds (usually above 95 mbps) and have problems with Daisuki. With Hulu I have no problems at all.

Pretty much anything is better than Reconguista seeing that the story is just all over the map. But this show is definitely has the potential to be great like Unicorn or 00 is.

Not a bad start though gotta say not a fan of Mikazuki's hair & eyebrow design. The new Gundam from what was shown of it looks awesome. Really hoping this series is in the vein of Gundam 00, cause I liked 00's approaching difficult concepts. And now instead of Plants (space-cities) vs Earthbound it seems it'll be Mars v. Earth with the MC's in-between them.

After watching this episode, it seems to be a mix of 00, Wing and Age(Setting wise not plot).

This looks like the start of a new hit Gundam series. The animation was gorgeous and the soundtrack is on point. The main conflict between Earth and Mars was established pretty well with everyone from Mars expressing just how much they want independence, even building a Gundam in secret. Mika is a child soldier and Orga comes up with the rational decisions. It's like Wing and 00 had a baby.

I don't know about anyone else, but I got the impression that Orga is pretty much a toned down Kamina. He refuses to back down from a fight, everyone in his group looks up to him to lead the fight, and he's sorta Mika's big brother figure. The only difference is that Orga is more serious and doesn't say hammy lines all the time. Also, Orga uses his brain to analyze the situation.

Mika reminds me of Setsuna and Heero, but a bit less emo lol.

Kudelia reminds me a lot of Relena from Wing. I know there are a lot of "princess of peace" type girls in Gundam, but Relena looks like the closest one to Kudelia. She's naive but it looks like she has plenty of room to grow.

The only thing I found stupid was how the fat guy is named Biscuit. But even I was able to take him seriously when he successfully escorted Kudelia out of the fighting. Props to Biscuit for being competent.

I do like the Shoulders of this Gundam.

But I had better not see another Destiny Gundam! That damned Destiny managed to have the dumbest pilot, the stupidest show, and the coolest design. Friggin, a Gundam that uses proper Mech Swords? Hell yeah....but nooooo

I'ma give it a big chance, as it looks to have what a proper Gundam should. But i doubt it'll manage the same feel as the 08th Team.
