Yup,me to.

Must be something generational. I suspect the younger folk have never heard that song.

Dont be so certian its still played by alot of parents most people know that stuff. Peter Paul and Mary though were probably the lamest 60s folk act though.

Okay, who else first thought he was referring to the fondly-remembered Care Bear-wannabe cartoons from the 70's/80's (also produced by PP&M), with Burgess Meredith voicing said dragon?

Or at least, I'd guess a third of the age-applicable readers here did.

Saphira was amazing! Such a good book series... Dunno how people haven't mentioned this one more yet!

We're tying to forget the movie....

I also like Saphira from Eragon and the dragons in the Dragonheart series

What movie *cough* There was no movie made from that *cough cough* series. God I hated that movie, though the last book was bitter sweet for me too. Good ending, but nowhere near what I wanted!

Glaurung in The Silmarillion. He was incredibly powerful (although not as much as the later Ancalagon) and one of Morgoth's best field commanders. Plus, he caused that douche Turin Turambar to kill himself. He made a very good bad guy, more so than Gothmog and Sauron.

I saw the animated movie based on that song when I was really young... I absolutely loved it. Every few days, the song seems to drift into my head.

Níðhöggr - Norse Mythology
Puff the Magic Dragon
Shinryu - Final Fantasy
Y Ddraig Goch - Welsh Mythology
Grigori - Dragons Dogma
Crossbreed Priscilla - Dark Souls (in half-dragons count)
