Sounds like it's a bad source. Do some more searching. There are other sites with superb streams for Gundam. I just don't like to name them since I pay for and support CR. Gundam is tough since there are no US distributors anymore.

I found a better one, and I'm enjoying it much more because of it, I think the chemistry between Al and the David Hayter character is pretty nice, but I really dont like the liar revealed story trope that this ova unfortunately practices. Still a good watch tho, looking forward to 0083 since that seems to be the one that got the US so interested in the franchise.

Yeah 0083 (I just call it Stardust) has some of the coolest Gundam fights and suits in the UC timeline. But, wait til you get to Zeta and ZZ. it will seem slower, and not as polished, but that's just due to it being older. But the RX-178 Mk II Gundam is badass.

Did anyone mention the compilation movies for Gundam 0079 and Zeta Gundam? If you watch those you should have a good understanding of the major elements and themes of the UC timeline.

Yeah I mentioned both actually. I recommend the 0079 movies, but imho you gotta watch Zeta full run. It's comp movies aren't as good

I agree with the sentiment for the 0079 movies, Steve Blum is great as usual and really fits as Char, and I like Bright's british voice. I also like that they left out that weird flail sped up the pace in some areas and expanded upon the battle of solomon. It's a great movie and a great entry point to the series.

Yep, I see you covered everything pretty well in the first reply. And I agree with watching the full run of Zeta.

edit: There's also a novelization of the original series, although it's more of a retelling. I would say it's what Gundam 0079 should have been.

I loved all the stuff I saw until zeta, it, just reeeaally killed my buzz. There were some cool suits but there were even more crappy ones, the characters just kind of drifted in and out of the story, rarely ever having any kind of meaningful departure (like when Katz dies because he didn't look where he was going and flew into an asteroid) the beam sabers are almost completely ignored in favor of having so many lazers the star wars prequels are telling them to tone it down. Does zz get better or should I skip it and just go straight to char's counterattack?

(also, I'm loving iron blooded orphans so far)
