Out of every country in the world, America should not be proud of theirs or their flag.

Why would you be proud of a country built off by slavery & the slaughtering over millions of people.

I do believe the American flag, like any other nation's flag should be respected. People have fought and died for that flag. In fact anything a person has fought and died for should be respected however which way you decided to respect that object/feeling is your choosing

No one fights and dies for a flag. They fight and die for the people and ideas that the flag represents. Lets not get those two mixed up.

Right of course, its kind of like that Walt Disney statue. The statue not only honours Mr.Walt, but his ideals

Which is why you shouldn't be proud of any country.

Every country was stolen, while killing millions of people that were native to said country, and built it off the enslavement of a race of people (with the most inhumane practices of slavery at that)?

As of now I can't think of any country who hasn't done any of those things

I've never cared about our Flag, not even my state flag. To me, the flags have always just been... there.

Cuz they didn't.
Obviously no country has a perfect, war free, murder free, etc etc history. At least some of those countries know what they did, and never denied it, then apologized for at least some of it.
But Amerikkka still hasn't really done that.
And are still proud of their country that only really benefits the rich tbh.

Edit:
Plus America has hurted like, every country in some way.
And that's why everyone hates America.
Every country, every race of people, was hurt by America some way.
Literally no one likes America but rich white folk lmao

I don't really care about the official American flag. The confederate one seems to be more of an issue... And what exactly should America be apologizing for? Why should civilians that live now have to apologize? Only people who've done crimes should have to apologize for anything.

Research it my friend. Research it. There are many reasons why many people despise the US.

Every country has done atrocious things, so it's hardly fair to criticize America while turning a blind eye to the others. Either they should all fly their flags or none of them should, IMO. And it's not as though every American collectively conspired to harm some other country. Out of the millions, only a handful are the actors.

I see no problem in having national pride. You like the society you were raised in, the people in it, the cultural values it instilled in you. You are part of a team and feel good because of it. Nothing wrong there. But, some people go way too far for a piece of cloth and get angry/violent over someone burning or defacing it. This is juvenile and comparable to ramming someone off the road because they gave you the middle finger. The act is symbolic but is powerless in and of itself.

Flags aren't very important to me since I merely recognize them as symbols, but I can see how someone born and raised in the US would look upon it as something that represents where he/she is from.

According to my Facebook feed the Confederate flag is far more important. Personally, I feel it's just a piece of cloth but I like to think it represents all those warm and fuzzy ideals that we're taught about in school that we should strive for even if we can't seem to live up to them most of the time.
