Ive been thinking about this anime that I'm trying to remember for a while now but, I just cant think of any character names or anime titles. Everyone's help would be much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it aired on Cartoon Network during the 90's or very early 00's but it could have been another network. One episode sticks out in my mind in particular where a guy in a black uniform came back to his team after being healed of some sort of addiction to a flower or magic powder or something that was keeping him alive after an explosion. I think the enemy of that anime found him after an explosion and they brought him back and forced him to use the substance against his will.

Again, thank you for all your time and effort. I cant wait to be able to watch this anime again!

Ehh I don't think this is right but it's not Samurai Jack is it? The guy in black being Aku? Samurai Jack was forced to go to the future.

Guy wearing black? Johhny Bravo. Addicted to a flower? Women. Magic powder? His ego. Explosion? Narcissism. The enemy? Himself.

Deductive reasoning says Johnny Bravo.

Do you remember anything else about the show, such as time period, genre, or characters' distinguishing features?

Hmm not sure why that sounds somewhat familiar. Do you have any other information? any name or nickname that pops in your head? where it takes place (country, region, desert)? any particular thing that stands out other than what you already described?

From memory, it seems like what I remember from Robotech or Volton but, searching keywords using those titles haven't brought any rules up for me. It was certainly in the style of those mechanical anime. If I remember correctly the character in question was replaced by a princess or someone... I also think that he had some device implanted into his abdomen where he absorbed the flower stuff.
