So I love western zodiac and I have done plenty of reading on it and would love to see some of yours!

Calculate your birth chart: http://www.new-astrology.com/natal-chart.php

Here's mine:

Meaning:

SUN - Although the sun isn't a planet, its placement in your birth chart and present location in the zodiac are considered to have significant meaning. The sun gives life to everything on the planet. Your natal birth sign is based upon the placement of the sun in a particular zodiac constellation, at the moment you were born. The sign brings light to who you are deep down. It governs the ego, and illuminates your nature and character.

MOON - The moon is closely tied to mood, emotions and instincts in zodiac astrology.

MERCURY -Mercury is the planet that governs communications and commerce (contracts particularly).

VENUS - Venus is the planet of love, beauty and creativity.

MARS - Mars was the ancient god of war and its influence is energetic and aggressive. This planet gets us all fired up about something, and the something depends on where Mars is located in your natal chart or in your current horoscope.

JUPITER - The planet Jupiter is all about luck, opportunity and optimism. Think big! Jupiter brings gifts in the form of expansion and growth. We all have Jupiter in our sign about once every twelve years and that is the time to go for the gold.

SATURN - Saturn is another big planet like Jupiter, but its influence is more about constraint and restriction. Saturn presents us with the very obstacles necessary for us to grow. Challenging and strict, Saturn is a taskmaster and will not leave you alone until you learn the lessons you must in order to progress and find our safety and security.

URANUS - Its expression is in the form of revolution, change, unpredictability and disruption.

NEPTUNE - Neptune is thought to be the planet of imagination, illusion and deception, particularly self-deception. Sometimes we do need to jump the track and explore fantasies or get in touch with our sensitivity, so the influence is not entirely negative. However, the presence of Neptune can be associated with substance abuse as an escape from reality.

PLUTO - Pluto is the planet most associated with the unconscious, sex and death. It is also associated with rebirth.

ASCENDANT/RISING SIGN - The Ascendant is said to be the mask one wears in public… it is the first impression we make when we meet new people. Often, if you are confused at how others have described you, it is because they are describing this aspect of your personality.

You can also always google what having a specific sign in a planet means for you! It's really quite interesting stuff!

Leo, I have a huge astrology book which I used, but never really got into it, since my Eastern Zodiac tends to be more accurate.

It's just neat stuff.

You have a lot of cancer too, that's super cool! Usually means you're more home and family oriented.

Gemini in quite a few places means you come off intelligently and usually are very articulate. Moon in Aquarius typically means you're more observant, especially of other people. It also means you have a strong underlying desire for independence and you typically don't attempt at all to "fit in" to mainstream. The Venus in Gemini, means your witty conversations are a lot of your charm. Do well on a range of conversations and topics. Stimulating relationships > comfortable. Usually prefer light-hearted relationships. Gemini have a very natural humor to them and attractive for how bright and good-natured they are.

Is it somewhat accurate? Only you can tell.

Life experiences shape us as well, horoscopes are more trends then anything. Cancer is the ruling sign of emotion, so people with Cancer in their signs are usually more heart than head. Usually more sensitive than others. They're also more protective of their family or home life (but there's always the chance your home life sucks which usually makes a Cancer very unstable/unhappy). However it doesn't make them total introverts at all. Cancer's are also known for loving parties, after all.

Family doesn't have to be by blood either. Cancer's are typically those people that will cut your dick off if you mess with people they love.

I find that description amusing considering I'm probably the most apathetic person I know of. Life experiences certainly shape us. Mine is a testament to that. Raised by loving parents to be kind and formal, but lived the complete opposite in the ghetto where crime was the norm. Since I like things that amuse me, I suppose Cancer is fitting for me.

Experiences shape a lot of what we are. While cancers are emotional they also have the hardest shell out of any of the signs. You mess up a cancer enough they'll be extremely cold and won't let much of anyone in. Gaining their trust is like breaking through a fortress with multiple sturdy walls. There's all sorts of possibilities, even within the realms of a single sign. There are positive and negative traits to every single one, sometimes what traits we take are very dependent on our lifestyle.

The best cold shoulder is usually awarded to a Cancer. Icy and separated is just another facet of it.

Hmm. Some of that seems more accurate. Though if I had to guess I'm probably more extreme

I'll have to look into the different descriptions there are for this. I'm curious now.

Somewhat, I guess. I hope so, at least. I don't usually make extra effort to impress or fit in with other people, but I temporarily will if I recognize that there's some sort of benefit (like making it easier for me to gain something or know someone) in doing so. I don't go out of my way to be different, though, that's just a waste of energy so I just drift along. I'm more of a writer than a speaker, although I do talk way more when I'm drunk or something, haha. Not sure if the relationship thing is right. I like lighthearted stuff for temporary situations but my actual relationships are a bit more serious. I dislike all forms of drama and prefer to spend my time at home relaxing/recharging quietly rather than dealing with commotions if I'm not outside, so I do prefer a comfortable, level-headed partner who communicates with me.

Thanks for the interpretation. I think I sort of get it now that there seems to be a pattern with the charts above. The sun part dictates your sign, the moon dictates a somewhat secondary characteristic, and the first planet corresponding with your sign fleshes it out a bit more...I think. Is that how you read the chart? And a prevalence of a certain sign strengthens the expression of its characteristics. Just taking a blind stab at it. Always thought astrology stuff was fun even though I never believed in it.
