im no expert when it comes to anime, but Ive seen enough to have an opinion on op and ed songs. theyre terrible. very few are decent but most are terrible. I always see somebody posting their favorite op or ed song and it makes me want to vomit. are people that brainwashed that they worship these parts of an anime? I know some people don't dwell on this too much but I would think the Japanese could come up with something better. sounding like some 80s trash

It just depends on your taste in music. You don't have to like them, there is always the option to skip it.

"sounding like 80's trash"

>implying music from the 80's is trash even though some of the best metal bands in history started in the 80's.

Here are some sick fucking openings from recent memory that most definitely do not sound like "80's trash".

https://youtu.be/UG0WMZmkbm4?t=45s SiM - EXiSTENCE (shingeki no bahamut op)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTmlrZw6Ctc Sen No Tsubasa (by Takuro Sugawara of 9mm parabellum bullet)

https://youtu.be/A_AEs8tPpuA Buck-Tick - Kuchizuke (shiki first op).

Nobody is brainwashed, they just have a different taste in music than you do.

Pretty much. They remind me of the 80s, which I consider the peak in the history of music. ^^

I wouldn't say "Great". Because let's face it, most of the songs have cheesy lyrics.

But worth listening to. And oftentimes I like the songs because they remind me of my favourite animes/anime scenes.

If i hear these songs randomly on the radio, i'd probably would never think twice about them...

I'm not a big fan of Jpop either, so I can't say I like many OP/EDs.

The ones I do enjoy tend to be those that dance to a different tune (ahh, I'm terrible...) ala Cowboy Bebop, Elfen Lied, Nodame Cantabile, Crest of the Stars, etc. Still, to each their own, I suppose. It's easy enough to skip the video player 90 seconds forward.

WHAT?!
Thanks to anime I discovered some amazing Japanese Bands, such as;
AKFG, Maximum the Hormone, An Cafe, the entire Naruto and FMA soundtrack bands!

But yes, I will agree some of it is insane! But it's kinda fun to get into the madness! >O<

There are some good anime songs and some bad songs depending on the anime series i think maybe they choose what singer or groups or bands they like
