Looks like someone hasn't seen Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, or FMA: Brotherhood.

As with most things, some are and some aren't. Making an assumption that all are bad simply because they are anime songs isn't any smarter than making an assumption that all are good because they are anime songs. Given how many anime come out each season and thus how many anisongs there are going to be, chances are some are going to be good and some bad, and some are going to align with your tastes and some aren't.

most of the crunchyroll type shows seem to have openings and endings with the exact same boring song structure.

I like the catchy hyperactive cute ones which are super happy. They make me happy and genki and likely to jump around. :3

They are so upbeat and catchy for the most part, and the visuals are really nice to go a long with the song. I think they are really great.

im no expert when it comes to anime, but Ive seen enough to have an opinion on op and ed songs. theyre terrible. very few are decent but most are terrible. I always see somebody posting their favorite op or ed song and it makes me want to vomit. are people that brainwashed that they worship these parts of an anime? I know some people don't dwell on this too much but I would think the Japanese could come up with something better. sounding like some 80s trash

It's all based in taste and honestly if you think all 80's music is bad I'm not sure about yours . Seriously, though, just like every decades music there's great, good, bad and atrocious music in each genre/style of music. For me, the 80s had hair metal, hard rock, speed metal/thrash, progressive metal, new wave, pop, rock, country rock among others. Anime has pop, rock, goth, emo, metal and many other genres/styles as well. Good music is subjective to the style one loves. If a rap fan tells me Iggy Azalea is good I honestly LMAO. If a pop fan tells me Justin Beiber or Taylor Swift is good I LMAO. It's just not my taste and I can see by how emotionally you put the original question that nothing would change your mind about anime OP/EDs or 80s music and that's okay too . Different strokes for different folks .

i like a lot of anime songs, but what i love most about them is they usually have NOTHING to do with the show at all and stand on their own, i like that. it isnt like NA shows where so many of the songs during the credits have to do with the show (look at a lot of the 70-80s cartoons and tv sitcoms).

Heck yeah. I've seen SO many anime songs that are chills inducing or are just plain catchy. Here are a few really good anime songs; you should probably check them out: Sugar Song and Bitter Step-- Unison Square Garden, Hanabi-- Ikimono Gatari, and Hunting for Your Dream-- Galneryus. You're sure to like at least one of these songs.

Something about Japanese music is just... catchy. I don't know what it is exactly, but I just really think a lot of them are really catchy or beautiful. There's an actual diversity between each Japanese musician unlike others I find.

A lot of same-sounding garbage. Musically it can change, but vocals almost always kill it.

There's definitely just an ocean of terrible ones, but lately on the less popular anime I've been finding some really nice ones I find myself heading back and listening to often.
