Hi, I am sort of new to anime and I am looking for a show that has a lot of action and a good amount of romance or just relationships/ love interests of sorts. Any suggestions? Can be any "rating" per say.

Gurren Lagann has a lot of mecha-based action, with some traces of romance. It is a highly rated anime.

NANA , was excellent if you like slice of life
Higurashi for horror
Code Geass / Gundam if you like Mecha

Toradora and Clannad are excellent pure romance stories.

If you want shows with a mixture of action and romance:

On Crunchyroll:

- Sword Art Online
- Otome Youkai Zakuro
- Gargantia of the Verderous Planet
- Angel Beats
- Bakemonogatari
- Chaika the Coffin Princess

Others (mostly on either Hulu or Funimation)
- Kaze no Stigma
- Familiar of Zero
- Highschool DxD (warning: lots of nudity)
- Eureka Seven
- A Certain Magical Index

Yona of the Dawn
Strike the Blood
Captain Earth
Voices of a Distant Star
Aldnoah.zero
Valerian and Laureline
Nobunagun
Interlude

All are action/romance hybrids and really good titles that are here on Crunchyroll. Although most are series Interlude is actually a mini-series and Voices of a Distant Star is a mini-movie.

Chihayafuru - If you don't mind the action being an obscure Japanese sport (Karuta - a 300 year old card game based on Japanese poetry).

I recommend Broken blade can be found on CR. Its a mecha show but pretty good in my opinion. If you looking for an awesome action packed show but you'll have try to find a site where you can watch Hellsing: Ultimate another good action packed show would be Claymore they are both about monsters and the sorts. Also Hellsing Ultimate has a really good dub version of the series I prefer to watch it in dub than sub with that series.

Btooom!
http://myanimelist.net/anime/14345/Btooom!/
A lot of action, two separate romances between some damaged and interesting characters, open ending, not sure if manga is finished or not.

Dragon Ball
http://myanimelist.net/anime/223/Dragon_Ball
I'm just sayin, the original Dragon Ball was really good. Before the ridiculous powerups and ludicrous amounts of filler, there was once a fun show called Dragon Ball. Just saying, dunno how old you are, so, yeah.

Eden of the East
http://myanimelist.net/anime/5630/Higashi_no_Eden
Action, a central romance that actually makes sense and doesn't have stupid high school bullshit, doesn't take place in a school setting, and has a really interesting plot. Openish ending. There are two followup movies, which basically change the ending of the series, so, you were warned.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
http://myanimelist.net/anime/14719/JoJo_no_Kimyou_na_Bouken_%282012%29
Manly action. Manly tears. Manly romance. THIS SHOW IS MANLY AS HELL.

Inuyasha
http://myanimelist.net/anime/249/InuYasha
http://myanimelist.net/anime/6811/InuYasha:_Kanketsu-hen
So there's this girl who falls down a well into the warring states era, and has to Do Stuff to save the world, with friends. I love this show to a ridiculous degree. Two main romantic pairings. The show is eventually finished up in Kanketsu-hen (second link).

Rurouni Kenshin
http://myanimelist.net/anime/45/Rurouni_Kenshin:_Meiji_Kenkaku_Romantan
Swords, awesomeness, romance, more awesomeness. Stop watching at end of Kyoto arc, the rest is filler. Find the OVAs instead.

Shinsekai Yori
http://myanimelist.net/anime/13125/Shinsekai_yori
This show has several pairings that switch around. There's a great deal of action as well as political and philosophical themes. There's a yuri relationship that lasts a few episodes, and a yaoi pairing for like one episode that includes a yaoi kiss. I wish I didn't have to put that kind of disclaimer in 2015. Sigh.

If you could be more specific, I could help you a bit more.

I am 17, but want something a lot older then naruto. I like the gore in Attack on Titan. So I am looking for an anime targeting an older audience.
