I use to use the Circa app for news - no bias, no spin, just the story, But, they announced a month ago they were shutting down. Haven't found a replacement yet. I do like Al Jazeera for news, but I rarely watch them. Overall, I'm not a news persons. They do purposely tell the public all negative stories.

I know of one person who works for Fox who starts apologizing whenever the conversation turns to "what do you do for a living"
Can you explain this?

Literally a person who upon stating he works for Fox follows up with apologies and 'Yeah I know they're evil, I have to make a living"

That has got to be the most depressing thing I've read today.

Well, Fox news is horrible, brainwashing, propagandist bile that constantly lies and fudges data for a far-right agenda that is rascist, classist, ant-civil rights, paranoia instilling, and outright xenophobic to start (there is so much more). From "poor people are lazy, lying, leaching moochers" to the handling of video games prior to the supreme court decision: they are horrible. And, CNN almost regularly tries to push an anti-Japanese agenda of some kind. I'm fine with never having to watch cable TV again, or radio, which can be just as bad (Go, go, Flush Rush!).

No.

They all sell entertainment, and try to influence you on the side.

All of them should be treated as such- No more, no less.

They're all biased to their own sides, Fox takes just as many steps to try to spin their side.
I will say flipping between the biggie stations for big news, Fox usually does better informative research on events than the others, but that's few and far between when any of them actually do any research until the local authorities tell the news casters what the situation is.

Best practice is to read all of their stories and see which facts are accurate, or find a good conveyor of news!

Honestly all American news channels are garbage. It's not even worth watching them. I stick to sources like Forbes on the web. Forbes is top notch and NYT isn't terrible but it has an obvious agenda. If you can identify and look past the bias then sources like NYT can be viable. Those 2 are my favorites for information.

They are all pretty terrible but at least Fox and MSNBC are honest about their partisan intentions. NPR and CNN pretend to be unbiased.

America cable news is not news, none of them. Cnn, Msnbc, and Fox are all trash that spin stories or don't report at all and just state opinions. Vice is the only news source I use and even they show some bias.

Well the number of times Fox has been proven wrong or caught in a blatant lie certainly doesn't help their reputation. Examples? Bill O'Reilly claiming that no Fox News host said there were Death Panels in Obamacare, even though there were a number of examples, including O'Reilly himself saying that very thing. Or the "No-go zones" in the U.K.

I'm siding on this statement basically. They're all a bunch of bullshit.
