So funny most say nothing wrong with it, no hate etc
I think we have had a bit too much disliking topic's that all seems to suggest the question was "do you like/hate traditions?".

so what family traditions do you have or atleast like?

My favorite one is every year I visit my grandma so we can watch dramas and drink herbal tea together. I love it, and everything about her is awesome.

Awesome ..::: allways good with happy living seniors, showing life or atleast "glows" of life that will most likely spread.

I don't really care what rituals people have as long as they are not forced on people or used to harm others.

If it doesn't mar progress or personal desires, who cares? Some traditions are fantastic displays of a culture's existence for thousands of years. That they've kept some of the more aesthetic and innocuous customs is a charming thing.

I do some American family traditions like Thanksgiving and Christmas for sure but also have some I make up with friends that are more relaxed and its not only about the calendar day but more about getting together with busy schedules and more booze involved

Traditions can be nice, but not all. Same goes for breaking away from tradition.

I love tradition and old traditions.

You have to understand where you come from before you can understand who you are.

Once a year, I take a cruise over to London, and throw lego on people.
When they go "Who do you think you are?!" or "What do you think you're doing?!"
I reply "Who, me? I'm Legoklossing!" then I throw more legos on them.
And I don't stop until someone buys me some fish & chips.

Hey, I loved the song in the OP. I prefer "If I were a Wealthy Man," though.

Where's that from?

Agreed, though one should never be rooted so deeply in it you cannot look to the future as well when it's time.
