Growing up with a family of 7 children and being the Eldest son I tend to get the short end of the stick and end up getting blamed for things I've never done.

I used to get blamed for either making a mess or for cooking something that my other siblings tend to do.

Has anyone else been blamed for something they didn't do or is that just me?

im sure a lot of us, older siblings, have been blamed for whatever happens to the younger sibling or what the younger sibling has done.

so its not just you.

I have a younger brother who is crazy autistic, i still get blamed for whatever crazy shit he's done to himself or even me.

I had a twin brother growing up. So, yeah it happened to me a lot and vice versa.

Well being an only child, I was always the culprit.

I've been blamed for shit at work in the past that had nothing to do with me. Sometimes people just need a scapegoat because let's face it... accepting responsiblity for ones own actions these days is a rare thing.

Nothing that I can think of. I tend to be honest to a fault, so if I say I didn't do something, people tend to trust me.

Yes, my sister was Satan-Incarnate... she would always get me in trouble...

Still love her, but she was so damn evil then...

Got blamed for watching pornography and getting a virus on the computer by my older brother. I was like 8 at the time and didn't even know what a vagina was, but my mom didn't like me much, so she didn't believe me that I didn't watch it and I got in trouble for something my older brother did....

Plenty of times even though I'm an only child. My family used to be pretty strict and most of my immediate family can be controlling and paranoid. Although I still value my family, I've on more than one occasion wondered what the hell they are thinking. Shouldn't family members believe one another more than some random stranger or acquaintance?

It angers me the most when I'm offering rational and logical explanations and they insist on blaming me without proof simply because they "feel like I did it." I don't even get a chance to not be guilty sometimes and it enrages me beyond what words can describe. These are the times when I come closest to lashing out physically in anger and I feel control slipping away from me.

My family is valuable to me, but I can't wait until I can get my own place and get away from it all.

No, to the adults i was a good kid. I never got into trouble. Even today, whenever i talk to people i grew up with, they talk about their memories of my childhood. I wasn't a bully, i was apparently a little dare devil who got the other kids to follow. They say i'd never explicitly tell them to do anything but they'd do something and get into trouble. Sad lol. I don't remember any of it, it's always a surprise to me that they have so many stories about me.

Ohhh YESSS. I got blamed for a lot of stuff when I was little. One time, my first grade teacher blamed me for spilling a cup of water in our table group when we were learning evaporation, but I was no where near the table the whole time. Everyone denied they spilled it and the teacher automatically blamed me and told me to clean up because I was the least favoured kid in the group. I will forever hate that teacher.

Never had to deal with family blaming me for something but I have had to deal with co-worker before. Worked in a Mexican restaurant that served alcohol and my co-worker was giving his buddies free booze "guys were underage to". When the manager was doing id checks at the tables and caught the idiot teens. My co-worker tried to say I was the one serving them. Even his buddies tried to blame me but I knew there were cameras and I made sure my co-worker and manager knew to check the footage. I told my coworker if he still insists I was the one who gave his buddies booze we just needed to check the cameras. If I was innocent I expect him to be fired and I would be taking him to civil court for slander. Since he was 17 I told him I would drag his family into this if needed unless he confessed and luckily for him I guess he cared enough not to drag his family into this and confessed on the spot. As for his friends I asked security to remove them and the manager was impressed with the way I took everything into account he made me a shift leader from a server.
