How hard would it be for us to create a movie?
Posted 7/19/15
Okay, so making an anime....is hard. Lesson learned.

What about a movie? More specifically...a documentary film about Crunchyroll?

Hear me out...

It'd be a members only documentary, about Crunchyroll, the anime on it, how having a legal service to play anime on has impacted the anime community. We could talk about CR's impact on the industry, our lives, its users, anything. Make it all about what we want.

Or we could do it about anime community in general. What we're really like. Whatever we want.

So...just how hard would this be? To get something like this done, and show the world who the users of this site really are and what this place is about, and what we can do.

For a documentary like that, not very. Finding people willing to discuss that would be harder than putting it together.

Just remember every movie only costs $2,184 to make!

Dave: But movies cost millions of dollars to make.
Robert K. Bowfinger: That's after gross net deduction profit percentage deferment ten percent of the nut. Cash, every movie cost $2,184.

I think we would need something more substantial to talk about or no one would watch it.

Nah id love a documentary about the community on this forum. It would essentially be masturbation but like masturbation it will be pretty fun.

Oh yeah don't forget to do a 360% shot to make it look dramatic, some car chasing scenes should put viewers on edge and might as well throw in some explosions for the excitement.
But how ever making a movie about crunchyroll hmm I could see it being inside the offices of CR itself and what they do, also have message pop ups on screen from various users across CR's forums and get opinions or questions from them.

So basically your asking everyone to send you video clips of themselves talking about Crunchyroll, and volunteering to select and edit the submissions into a movie? Sounds doable, although you might encounter a lot of jerks that stray off-topic and just send videos of themselves singing karaoke. That's what I'd do anyways.

Budgeting is probably going to be the biggest issue.

I have always though a documentary about a forum community would be really cool.

Lmao, this clearly is a dupe for the CR PREMIUM+ contest for a trip to Japan

And, this would be pretty easy, get clips; edit them and bunch together. Easy

A documentary wouldn't be bad. I doubt it would be hard to make either if we're using those ideas. But I feel the documentary should have something interesting to discuss or it might get boring.
