How organized are you?
Posted 7/20/15 , edited 7/20/15
I feel both organized & disorganized, but I also feel im pretty messy/disorganized in general. Because I'm often messy with things I dont care for.

Like with schoolwork, I usually have 1 or 2 folders to keep everything in & 1 or 2 notebooks for notes in most of my classes.
I don't have a notebook for each subject I'd feel like I need it in, same with folders.
My pencils are just everywhere in my bag.
Also my clothes are often mixed up together as well. Like my pants are also where I put my shirts.

But I'm very organized with computer stuff & my video games.
On my computer, everything often has their own folder basically.
Most folders end up having more folders in them too. I have a folder for each music genre I listen to, including artists/albums in that one of the genre folders. Its the same with games as well.
I have plenty if console games too, so I organize them by console than genre like I would do on my computer.

I'm clearly capable of being more organized, I'm just lazy when it comes to things I do care about that much I guess.

How about you guys?
Disorganized or organized? Or something like me?

I'm kind of like you. I consider myself an "organized disorganized" person.

My binders and notebooks are all a mess, but I know everything's in there. If you ask me for a certain paper, I'll find it in a minute or so. Everyone's always telling me to clean it up, but I don't really see the point when it already serves it's purpose. Why fix what isn't broken? It'll end up like that again soon enough anyways. I'd rather spend my time on something I actually enjoy doing, watching anime.

My room is also pretty messy too. But not the kind where there's food everywhere, or mould growing in the corners. It's a clean messy. I know where everything is, and I still have plenty of room. The one thing that is organized is my manga and video games shelf, which I always keep pristine. I always keep them in the right cases, and I've never scratched one to my knowledge.

My desktop is fairly organized. I have all my images in one folder, my games in another, and whatever other junk is left in a spare one near the recycling bin. The only game I keep out of the folders is the Steins;Gate vn, which is always in the top right corner.

I'm similar to you in the fact that, like you said, I'm lazy when it comes to thinks I don't really care about. I'm not going to put as much effort into my homework as I do to my own pastimes. I can't. Sure, I get everything done because that's the bare necessity for living a normal life, and I get really good grades, but the only things I can put my time into that won't leave me feeling exhausted and bored are anime, video games, and a nice thick book. It's a part of me and I've come to accept it.

So essentially exactly like you when it comes to organizing things.

I have a photographic memory (the only good memory I really have) So I tend to keeps things organized in their designated spot. However, the designated spots can get ridiculously crowded.....which leads to things being arranged in odd ways.

Like an incense burner, on top of the face of an alarm clock, which is lying on top of a jewelry box.

I guess I am pretty disorganized. My room and basically every room and thing I use is messy.

If it's something I care about such as my electronics, games, and/or something I am into then I will be more organized about it. If I am "meh" about it then I won't care much thus leaving it messy.

Terrible thing to admit since one should be tidy but just how I am.

*looks at desk* hehehe....

Edit: my iPad is a lifesaver for my studies since I can write notes on it and store everything in neat folders. Paper stuff just disappear on me.

I'm well organized when I live alone. But for the last couple years I've had an extremely unorganized roomate who almost never cleans, and so I've let my good tidy habits slide dramatically to match pace with his laziness because I don't feel like acting like a nanny and cleaning up all of his messes around the place.

The only time I clean up after him is when new lifeforms begin taking up residency in the kitchen, or he finally cleans up a bit himself, and I finally feel good about doing some cleaning.

Completely disorganized. But everything has it's place in my chaos. So I suppose I'm best defined to be the organized chaos type.

Except video games. I flip the fuck out if someone doesn't put it back in my cases. My brother is familiar with my rage over that. It's just plain stupid not to put those away.

If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, what is an empty desk a sign of?

That said, my gaming supplied are in labeled and indexed binders, everything is placed in sheet protectors, and I carry a selection of fine point colored wet-erase markers with me, just in case. My bookshelves and movies are alphabetized. I spend several hours a weeks sorting and filing MTG cards by color/type/name, and can locate any given card in my collection in under a minute.

Very, very disorganized. But it's my own mess so I usually know where to find my things. I can't find anything if someone cleans my room and organizes everything.

I'm not dirty, though. I won't tolerate filth like mold and stale crumbs and drink spills. I'm just messy.

Probably a bit too organized. Everything i use on a regular basis has a special spot and even if its slightly out of place from that spot i will correct it. Ive got a terrible memory though do to years of seizures so the being overly organized benefits me a lot.
