I did a hell of a lot of sex ed in England both in secondary and primary school. I got a pretty good grasp on it by the time I hit puberty. Not that I've ever needed any of that information.

In primary school? I sure as hell didn't. I didn't even know vaginas existed in primary school. ._.

Yeah man, at year six, every week for about a term or so if I remember correctly. Although I distinctly remember some girl asking about how to not have babies, and the teachers telling her they're not allowed to talk about that. But that's probably because it was a catholic school.

I have a question I have about sex I never asked in class before when I was small because I thought everyone was going to call me stupid, but I hope this forum can feed my knowledge a bit.

1. If 2 virgins who never had sex with anyone before have sex together- can they get STDS?

2. You can only get STDs if you have sex with a person with STDs right?

I'm sorry, for wasting your time please answer.

1.The chances of that happening I think is actually possible, but just very slim. It mostly I think has to do with their hygiene for that to ever happen. Like, if they don't ever wash their genitals (before & after, also regularly as well), then yeah, it's certainly possible I would say.

2. No. It's just with someone that actually has STD's the chances are higher (of course lol), while with someone who doesn't have it, it's lower.

So to prevent STDs:
Wash regularly, also before & after sex, and make sure you and your partner don't have any diseases/viruses.
Even if you don't think they do, or even if you don't think you do.
Better safe than sorry.

Of course we need better sex ed! In fact, we need comprehensive (i.e. NOT abstinence) sex ed. Why do you think European countries have some of the lowest teenage birth rates in the world?

Think about it. If we can get access to comprehensive sex ed and affordable birth control, then we could potentially reduce the number of abortions performed each year.

Of course, if Germany can have sex ed mandatory for elementary school then why shouldn't the USA do the same?

Well the lack of it and urging them to wait certainly doesn't stop teens from having sex, so If they are going to do it anyway, may as well teach them so maybe they don't end up with kids or diseases and other reproductive health issues.

I live in the U.S., and I really think we need better sex education.
Too many schools are trying to scare people into not having sex, when really teenagers are gonna do it anyway. They should be taught the truth, and know that sex has consequences and risks.

In a country where constant violence exposure is perfectly acceptable but anything sex related is forbidden more education wouldn't hurt. Its probably one of the most important things you would need to learn in school. I took sex ed when I was in like 7th grade I think.

I've never had a sex ed class. But I have had a Health class which kinda went over it. I do however feel as if many more teenagers should be taught about safe sex, and not just what the definition of sex is. Just my thoughts.
