I don't know if anyone said this, but Neon Genesis Evangelion Death and Rebirth movies. I still have no idea what the last movies to that series really mean and they seem to have been purposely made to confuse the $%@! out of everyone. However, the series itself was also confusing... I think it had to do with religion but that's just my opinion.

Serial Experiments Lain, I've watched 3 times and couldn't get a grip of that anime xD
(For those that are saying it doesn't make any sense: it actually does)

Evangelion Too, but it wasn't as hard to understand as SEL!

IMO it's awesome when you don't get a thing of the show and then you go to a forum read about it and you learn it's something you could never imagine even in your wildest dreams *NGE feelings/nostalgia*

I was thinking the same thing...I watched the whole anime hoping it would make sense in the end. No luck.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan

But then again, I don't think the plot was supposed to have anything to do with anything in the first place...it was entertaining nonetheless.

-also, shorts like Ai Mai Mi and Teekyu. Even Paniponi Dash made more sense than those...

Akagi because I still don't know how mahjong is played, so I have to blindly accept all the explanations given by the characters and the narrator. Though, I haven't watched the last episodes yet.

Horizon in the MIddle of Nowhere is one of the first shows I think of..

You just keep going and start piecing stuff together slowly. Like... Higurashi is very confusing. Whole first season is meant to inspire questions, second season is meant to answer them. Usually it's a literary device to keep people intrigued.

I have to agree with Horizon in the MIddle of Nowhere being the most confusing one out there...

I believe you missed the "...but can't stop" part of the topic subject.

The Monogatari series. It's really hard to keep up with that one due to the heavy dialogue. I want more.
Durarara!! I have no idea what was going on at first. And then, Shizuo and Izaya appeared. It's a keeper since then.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo - This one I didn't really understand all that well but so far I've found that I really like it and just can't stop watching it. It also has pretty catchy songs.
