Hunting for sport is ridiculous. There's a lot of other things you could do for fun without killing animals for no legitimate reason. If you hunt because you need it to eat, then whatever. Just don't kill things that are endangered.

I am of the opinion that there are only three good reasons to hunt animals:

1) You need food.
2) The animals in question are a danger to the environment. (e.g Boa constrictors in Florida)
3) The animals are carrying some sort of dangerous disease.

Trophy hunting is vain and selfish.

I dislike hunting for sport. As with fishing, which I do more than hunting, I have a certain set of rules I follow.

1. If you aren't going to eat it, don't kill it.
2. If it's pregnant or a juvenile, don't kill it. There's really no point in eating/killing tiny young fish with more bones than meat, and it's just bad for the population and sustainability if you keep killing pregnant females.
3. Play fair and do something that requires some skill on your part. That's the whole point of stuff like fishing and hunting. You don't go trolling for fish and call that real recreational fishing. Grab your rifle or bow and just go out there with a buddy.
4. If the animal is endangered in some way, even if it's not globally endangered and it's just a threatened local population, don't kill it.
5. If it's an animal of record size, don't kill it. Same goes for animals with striking peculiarities from rare genes.

I don't like hunting for sport, I only hunt for what I am going to eat.

Hunting can't ever be concerned a 'sport' to me. It's just putting any animal's last moments on Earth a pure hell.. (╥_╥)

Hunting for sport? evil. Hunting for food or survival? okay. At least that's what I think.

I don't mind hunting for sport or hunting for food. I think it's a part of human nature to hunt, especially for guys. I've never gone hunting but I don't hate or hold any negative view towards people who do. And if I had the chance to go hunting and eat what I've killed, I definitely would. I think that men who wouldn't kill a chicken or a cow but still eat chickens or cows or whatever are sort of cowards or, at the very least, hypocrites.

Hunting endangered animals is prohibited by law in the US and is a ridiculous practice anywhere.I've worked on the kill floor of packing houses and I hunted for decades .I find it particularly hypocritical to condemn hunting as barbaric,(it is), simply because you obtain your meat in a clear plastic wrapped package and someone else does the killing for you..

Okay lets just say this...

People have been hunting for thousands of years at least.. we have killed off a lot of the natural predators that hunted the animals we hunt today.. if we were to stop hunting now.. the animals we are now hunting, would overpopulate, eat up their food source, which they happen to share with other species, then they would starve to death and die from widespread disease... thus breaking the food chain.. so yes hunting should be allowed but restricted to a certain amount to keep the food chain alive!

You have?
Then you most be very quick worker

Would not say barbaric (if done in such a way) but more of "normal" view on it.

For sport, no. For food and population and disease control, yes.
