I'm just looking for a new MMO to play and I figured I'd ask you guys for any recommendations you have.

Maplestory was so darn good it ruined every other mmorpg I ever tried to play since. Nothing compared.

I'll get back into it one day.

I'm currently playing FF14 and it's extremely fun and solidly designed. It doesn't really do anything new for an MMO but it gets just about everything pretty close to right. The one issue I have is that it forces organized group content as part of basic character progression.

A very strong runner up for me is Secret World. Great setting and storyline, and some of the best voice acting and writing in all of gaming (never mind just MMOs). The biggest issue is that the game just doesn't feel like it has much life left in it, which is a real shame given how perfect the game is for RP. Still, it's really worth a play even if you just go through the single player stuff.

Guild Wars 2 is fun and almost unbeatable when you consider the minute to minute gameplay, but I found the world and story so uninteresting that I found it hard to care. Also, I really didn't agree with a lot of how the developers operated and communicated.

So, for right now, if you want an MMO for all of the MMO trappings, you can't go wrong with FF14. If you just want an MMO mainly for a big and interesting world to explore and experience, Secret World is a great choice.

Personally I have dumped more hours into DC Universe Online. I enjoy playing as a hero or villain in the iconic cities of Metropolis and Gotham and against other heros and villains.

My current favourite is Guild Wars 2, there is so much variety in what you can do and it's perfect if you like customizing your characters because of all the different armour and weapon skins.

I enjoyed Age of Conan a lot as well, but I haven't played for a few years, so I don't know what it's like now.

Tera is pretty cool and free to play on steam. I'm still playing World Of Warcraft, though I keep meaning to try out FF14 again with the new expansion out.

I still play Asheron's Call since it's gone free to play now. You pay $10 for it, but after that it's free forever. It's also an ugly MMO since it's been around since 1999.

That's so awesome! I remember playing AC back in the day. One of my all time favorite MMOs. Don't think I could go back though. I'm a bit of a graphics whore and I doubt it aged well. It's a shame AC2 wasn't as popular, I really enjoyed that one too.

Besides countless hours invested in Asheron's Call 1 and 2 I also spent some time with the first Guild Wars, before the expansions. I picked up GW2, but my hectic schedule has kept me from really doing anything besides making a character and doing the beginner quest.

It hasn't aged at all. They redid some textures, and added some new races, but it looks like it did the last time you played. Angular and ugly. Yet, I can't stop playing it.
