I might be in the minority here, but I actually like some of the VNs normally directed at boys. I enjoy pervy humor like that.

That being said, I would really like to see VNs that incorporate the males more, because I am a girl after all. Cute girls are nice, but I'd like some more VNs focused on sexy guys too.

Also, more serious VNs with awesome storylines would be cool. Kind of like Kara no Shoujo as an example.

what is the difference between cute girls and sexy girls to you?

when you say fluffiness what do you mean by that?

My idea of Fluffiness might be the cheesy moments/romantic moments... It's the part where butterflies in your stomach flies.. lol

You can add Character development as well latinaloverTX

... this order for putting together a game makes sense to and would flow naturally for me (though you may have different needs):

-Decide on a genre (comedy, horror, mystery, etc.)
-Decide on a setting (country, urban/rural/suburbs, time period, etc.)
-Determine the core premise around which your plot will revolve (this is one of the hardest parts)
-Establish a main protagonist to fulfill whatever goal your premise entails
-Establish supporting characters to help the protagonist along the way
-Send your protagonist on his or her journey

I agree with BlueOni's statements. At the same time I recommend the following:

1. Ask yourself, "Do I care about the story that I'm writing?" If you're not especially interested in creating it, then it's unlike that other people will enjoy reading it. Also, if you're not committed to writing your story, there's a good chance that it will end up unfinished.

2. Ask yourself, "What will it take for me to write, finish, and release this story?" Perhaps you will benefit by giving yourself deadlines, so that you're not tempted to procrastinate. Perhaps you need to find a topic or a character that's personally interesting. Perhaps you need to get encouragement as well as constructive criticism from other people.

3. Ask yourself, "What's interesting about my story?" Think about what will make it unique and compelling. Consider what's notable about your plot, characterization, setting, and so on.

I like the stereotypical moe girl ones. I'm assuming the thread isn't for me, but I'm a girl so there's my opinion. =P

I don't really play vns, but I prefer the seinen genre so probably just something with great plot and art.

(not a girl, but I still want to respond)

I think the most important points are good art/character designs and well developed/dynamic/relate-able central characters.

Do you actually have any art or story ideas that you could bounce off of us?

Does it have to involve romance & porn? Naw. There are some that don't involve either and when they involve romance, they tend to splice in little elements of porn here (they may not be full porn but porn related content) and there. I don't like nudity and I don't like romance either. So there are some VNs I love but others are kinda meh. Now onto my ideal one, hmmm I'd have to list it.

One that has a unique story that isn't total clichè but is super intresting
No romance- romance bores me
No sexual/nude/porn content- that's just disgusting
Maybe a little violence/swearing/drugs if they can add it
Options that control what happens next (in every VN already i think there's this feature)
12 diverse main characters at a minimum with 15-20 side characters who don't talk much or at all
Occasional video footage in 2.5d instead of 2d
2-5 options per interaction
Relationship & reputation systems you can build per character based off interactions
Quests
High school settings
An eventual ending shaped by what you do
Chance for game over if your reputation gets too low

Or am I just asking for a game that isn't even a VN?

Since you don't yet kno the ending of your life, you could splice in some alternate endings
