So we are officially done with basically the first half. Man what a ride.It pretty much marked the end of the king storyline of struggle with his prime minister, Now its interesting what will happen to the king and his storyline. Will it be empire building politics, economics, and diplomacy or will the king will play second fiddle to the young and upcoming soldier? I hoped for the former because the struggle of the king gave a natural counter balance to just a guy swinging his sword left and right. Talking about Shin, them six generals...

Anyway wouldn't be cool if they animated the coalition war arc! But im a little bit hesitant because the studios screwed up the first season with crappy 3d. The second season was better but that narrators voice pisses me off. And the recaps of the previous episode was also annoying. But hopefully if they do season 3, they give it full justice!!

So what are your thoughts on this wonderful piece of news?

Tears of joy. Can only hope this leads to more adaptations, maybe even movies of season 1 would be something i would love to see.
But this series deserves it and i'm ecstatic to see japan giving it some love. Hopefully this gets more people internationally to notice Kingdom as well and start diving in.

Yes Kingdom is worth checking out. My advice, skip the anime and go straight to the manga.

As a Kingdom fan, this is thrilling news, and perhaps it would push a company to license the series for an official English release. And it's even more amazing that it's shot up from being 21st in manga sales in the first half of this year to being #5 (over 200k more sales over #6, Haikyuu), effectively doing over twice as much sales over the past 2 months than it did in the first 6 months, going from 1.1 million sales in the first half of 2015, I believe as of the middle of May, to 3.9 million as of July 19th. And volume 39 had only been released for 2 days by that point, so I can definitely see its selling quite a bit more in this volume, and it'll likely have one more volume to go in the rest of the year which ends in November iirc.

Such a beautiful arc. Felt absolutely terrible for hating on Sei's mum after they cleared up what she'd been through. I can imagine they'll concentrate on their battle with Chu (?) and Shin's progression on this next arc.

Yes also skip the anime. It gets really confusing with the chinese translations of the character's names. I personally hate the voice actor/art style on top of the translations but yeah, I hope they do a reboot once the manga starts getting more and more popular

Really happy to see this happen.

I also want it to be Licensed here in NA, but it seems very unlikely at this point.

Printing 39 volumes would be pretty brutal, though if these companies really start pushing digital sales, I do think it's possible, as you don't have to actually print anything, you just keep it all on servers. The big issue would be translating the content, but I really don't think that's a major issue. However, if someone like Viz takes on the series, they could really push VizBig or their multi chapter volumes for Kingdom and only have to print 13 different books rather than 39.

I really think that if a series becomes popular enough and has a chance to grow further, a publisher will take on the series. Remember, the series just had its halfway point, it's not like it's gaining its popularity at the finale climax where the series will be over in a year, Kingdom could be around for close to a decade, which is more than enough chance for it to grow further. And this popularity is with almost zero exposure to the west. Yes, it had the anime, but it was a total turnoff from episode 1 and did very little in the west. If it actually gets licensed and sold here, I really think it can flourish, especially if online viewers push it, as pretty much no one of note reviews it. King of Lightning likes it a lot, and has mentioned it in his videos, but doesn't actively review it, but he's really the only big online reviewer who's into it. At its rate, Kingdom could definitely crack top 10 sales, which is quite good and might push a publisher to license it. I just hope a publisher isn't too dissuaded by how many volumes have been released.
