Nothing draws me to a show more than brutal violence, plenty of gore, and where death is actually felt. None of that goody two shoes friendship conquers all BS.

To get an idea of what I mean, attack on titan, akame ga kill, terraformars...

If not the brutal gorefest, at least have a brilliant hard hitting plot, such as cowboy beebop, and the one I've never seen anything come close to.... Deathnote... (can I have your autograph?)

Sadly, I find it hard to seek out new shows of this kind of caliber, so I'm asking for a little help. Can anyone give me some suggestions? On a side note, about the only mech shows I've ever liked were gundam wing, and aldnoah zero. I just find robots annoying.

I only have Netflix and crunchyroll to go on, but might be interested in other apps if the have some good collections.

Kidding of course.

You could try Claymore, or maybe From the New World - perhaps one of those?

EDIT - Or if you like Death Note, which is more psychological and with little gore, then maybe something like Ergo Proxy or SEL? Little gore in those though so 'shrugs'

I've moved this to Advice, Info, Recommendations.

I recommend Gangsta, (which mrbushido1990 already recommended). You can watch ad-free on Funimation with a subpass (which is pretty cheap though I don't remember how much), if you don't want to watch hulu ads or wait for it (Funi has a 1-week exclusive).

Hmm, what about Fate Zero? It has a good plot and there's lots of fighting involved. Plus the main character is an adult.

Like others have said, Parasyte. Also Tokyo Ghoul is on Netflix where I am anyway and has plenty of gore and adult characters.

You should also check out Psycho Pass. It's on Netflix and is pretty dark and twisted in a way. But it's awesome!

Not currently on Netflix so not sure what's on there but Future Diary, Shiki, Red Garden, Monster, Paranoia Agent, Speed Grapher, Black Butler/Book of Circus/Book of Murder, Riddle Story of the Devil, Rampo Kitan, and Chaos;Head all contain quite a bit of gore.

I also agree whole-heartedly with ALL the other posters picks above. There are quite a lot of shows that fit your likes out there.

I would include BTOOOM!, Black Bullet, and Brynhildr in the Darkness to the list of recommendations.

You looking for gore and edge of your seat action? Try Corpse Party

Honestly one of the absolute best horror anime's I've ever seen in a while.

Although I've seen about half of the suggestions, THANK YOU ALL!!! One of the main reasons I have a love for anime is that they can do so much more than what's possible in live action movies and tv... and make it look right without over the top cgi. (game of thrones being one of the few exceptions)

Keep em coming, and I just might have enough shows to watch until GoT season 6 hits!
