Any NANA fans?
Posted 7/23/15

I never see A lot of NANA fans although I loooove NANA , it was my first manga I've read//first anime I've watched

Nana (ナナ?) is a Japanese josei manga series written and illustrated by Ai Yazawa, serialized in Cookie published by Shueisha. The manga derives its title from the name of the two main characters, both of whom are called Nana. Nana Komatsu is a small town girl who goes to Tokyo to follow her boyfriend and college friends, with the hope of having her dream life. Nana Osaki was in a popular punk band in her home town. She goes to Tokyo with the goal of making it big as a singer. The two Nanas meet on the train ride to the city. Later, they run into each other again when they happen to check out the same apartment, and the girls decide to become roommates. The series chronicles their friendship and their lives as each chases her dreams.

Have any of you watched NANA and is a big fan of the manga and anime?

I love Nana so much; it's one of my favorite anime ever and it was my introduction to josei/shojou. Osaki Nana is one of the coolest girls in anime in my opinion.

Watched it just recently after one of my favourite cosplayers did a cosplay of her https://www.facebook.com/EmmaLangleySoryu/photos/pb.191771737624814.-2207520000.1437727197./657407234394593/?type=1&theater

I thought it looked cool so decided to watch the anime. Reira was probably my favourite character in it she's like this tortured genius her stoy is really sad. I don't get why everyone seems to hate Takumi so much he could have knocked up Hachi and left but he decided to marry her and look after her and the baby with all his money. If anything Hachi is the worst character she is just like some unstoppable slut through the whole thing.

I have to agree with you about Hachi. I can not stand her. She just never seems to learn and is always trying to love herself by loving men.

I also not a big Hachi fan but I will say in Manga she gets a little more mature after having a baby and learns how to manipulate her husband a little. I wish the anime was longer the manga covers so much more story pretty amazing

Hmm, never read the manga but the anime ending sucked so sad! Two Nanas separated and the one has evil domineering husband.
I wanted Nana + Nana yuri ending.

...unfortunately, even the manga kinda ends suddenly, and it seems unlikely she'll ever wrap it up at this point.

It's still one of my favorite manga ever, and I thought the anime was a really good adaptation of the material.

I didn't really dislike Hachi. She's frustrating in her behavior, but it also seemed pretty believable given her age and experience. And, as you said, she does mature as the series goes on.

I am with you with Hachi I think it makes Nanas Character shine even better when they inter act together one on one haven't see a friendship like that with 2 women in anime like ummmm never no yuri no love triangle just friends supporting friends

I think she already knew about manipulation from the start. She always liked to play the victim in everything while she is two timing guys and sleeping around. Before she even got cheated on she was trying to get in that shop guys pants so he'd give her a job then he didn't hit on her and she was upset. She still plays the victim when she is cheated on. She dates Takumi then cheats with Nobu and still acts the victim crying and carrying on. She even walked away from Nobu to sleep with Takumi when he showed up. But oh everyone must feel sorry for her because Takumi is such a bad guy for trying to keep his slutty manipulative wife under control.

It's kinda sad because she has her moments but for the most part she's written as a selfish piece of trash.

Fan here too! I thought the anime progressed pretty well, though I too wasn't thrilled with the ending. I wouldn't mind a few more anime similar to NANA.

I felt like the art didn't lend itself well to animation. It was more beautiful on paper for me. I find the anime a little boring at times, even though I loved the manga.
