Victoria Secret Ads appear on TV and a 13 year old can see that.

It is what it is

There's a mature filter on this website? I was wondering how CR got away showing ecchi stuff right next to Naruto and One Piece and not get in trouble...

How do you turn it on/off?

I see someone report this thread. Why? Does this thread offend to you? The OP has legitimate concern here.

Yeah while I could give less of a fuck what 13 year olds sees (I was looking up porn at that age) they shouldn't advertise ecchi content on Crunchyroll especially if they are trying to get new people into anime.

Also whoever reported this thread needs to grow up and stop being a baby.

Please don't make assumptions about why a thread was reported. In this case it was a legitimate concern that this might be better suited for the Help! section. I think it was reasonable for someone to bring it to our attention and ask about it, in case we'd overlooked it. No one was offended. No one was being a baby.

I had seen already that the OP wanted it in General Discussion in order to have discussion and share opinions and experiences. That seems reasonable to me, and I'm happy to keep it here since such discussion is unlikely to take place as easily in the Suggestions / Feedback forum which is used more for one-way communication from a single user to CR (though occasionally others will chime in).

However, once Otakon weekend is over I'll be sure to point the thread out to staff since I do think what is said here is valuable feedback for them.

I'm going to get shit for saying this, but:

Adblock!

Also, your image is broken so I have no idea what ad you are referring to.

On one hand, so long as it remains within the letter of the law it's irrelevant as ethical obligations are covered within the statutes of the law, which is precisely what certification is and why it exists at all.

On the other hand, business wise I'm incline to agree with the concerns that it might turn some people away from anime and the site. While I, for example, enjoy the series in question others might find it offensive. This could of course cause those people to backpedal away from Crunchyroll, cutting the revenue they brought at best, and turning potential customers away from it at worst (if not worse still).

It would make more sense to segregate ads between series tags, people like to see more of what they are interested in, especially in site specific ads such as in this case. While I wouldn't suggest no possibility of overlap between interrelated genres by tag, an automatic spectrum of tagging might be a good idea. Or alternatively, a system by which people could blacklist certain tags such that they'd never have to see ads for things that they purposely avoid.

You can upgrade to Premium, if you wish not to see the ads, also, there may be adblock software you can use.

NO... No.

As others stated just upgrade to premium and grab yourself AdBlock. Easiest and quickest solution. As for whether kids should be shown such material that is for their parents to decide. If they were doing their job they would know what kind of ads can pop up on any given site their kid goes to and would give restrictions accordingly.

I do have to say though, that I would not be opposed to a system like the one mentioned above where you can select the types of anime or genres you are interested in and have the others be unable to come up.
