Yes. My boyfriend and I are long distance, and have been for two years. The distance is a nuisance to be sure; at the same time, being able to scout for the perfect match without regards to distance has its advantage.

I wouldn't trade him for the world = }

It might be difficult like everyone says, it definitely is on a serious level, but it makes up for it if you love that person. I have always found that in a long distance relationship there is that potential of becoming emotionally closer to a person in a way you never would if you had met them in person first. So it can be very precious.

While long distance relationships are certainly difficult, they're far from impossible. One of the biggest reasons long distance relationships fail is because one or both people aren't taking it seriously. With long distance relationships, not only do you become emotionally closer to that person, but it also gives you the chance to see that person for who they actually are. People are pressured by society to try to fit in wherever they go, and quite often they tend to act differently to how they actually are. Being able to hide behind the comfort and security of a screen grants a certain sense of safety. You feel like you can be yourself and no-one can really judge you for it. So when people get into long distance relationships, they feel safer knowing that they can't really be judged based upon things like physical appearance.

Nope, cause your other half may be half way across the world, but that fine looking person at the bar has been flirting with you and looks like you can seal the deal. Nope it won't ever work NEVER.

It's possible, but like with any relationship there needs to be honest and trust. I have been in a long distance relationship, but it didn't work out. I also want to tell you something a friend told me..."Do not put all your happiness into that one person. Have other things that make you happy as well." They had a point as I put all my happiness into the girl I dated, I think because of that I hurt more when we broke up. Also hurt when she told me there was another she was seeing during the relationship. She is still with that guy as far as I know, but could care less. I tried to get passed it all and still be her friend...... Yeah couldn't do it and had to cut ties. Don't get discouraged when people say it's impossible and you should find someone who lives in your area (I had people tell me this too) as a long distance relationship can and does sometimes work. I have wondered if it's fair though especially if it's over seas. I will say it is very difficult as just some things aren't present in a long distance relationship. It just comes down to if you and partner are honest with each other and trust each other. It didn't work for me, but it doesn't mean it won't work for you. I wish any couple luck in their long distance relationship.

I've had relationships with foreign women, the first being a beautiful French exchange student when I was in HS (very pleasant memories about her too), and others I've met on my travels. I've exchanged addresses and written back to them, weather its by mail, or email. The French girl I reunited with several years later after graduation on a trip to her homeland, a very nice reunion and how could I forget having her swimming pool to ourselves We're past the romance stage, but we remain friends who keep in touch from time to time. As for the women I've met overseas, I've had a few relationships that could be described as a long distance FWB, reuniting with them on our travels and having a good time together.

here here! in a LDR for 3 years.i migrated here in canada thus leaving my girlfriend.at first we fought a lot about nonesense things but as time goes by we got tired and cherish what we have in 3 months im goin home for the first time yoohoo! well i know there's a lot of "what ifs" but we believe in true love thus remain loyal and committed to each other there's so called internet to keep the feeling of being distant and ANIME for our bonding moments
