going by Erickson's stages of life it might lead to failed challenges and a depressive outlook in later years. But's that only if you buy into Erikson
AND see 2D attraction as an impediment to his stages (which it could easily be)

I dont really stand by Ericksons cause it kinda discounts people who are Asexual but either way I would say for a person who has a sexual attraction to any gender to be solely attracted to a 2D character to have a problem. Its just fucking sad to me.

IT IS NOT HEALTHY. Simple as that.

I find it okay to like or even love a 2-D character. I personally love Miku! I have her everywhere (keychain, toy, etc...). But deny a 3-D person because of a 2-D character is going to far...

Even if it is your choice and your passion, deep inside you know that YOU really want a real relationship. And better with a person that kick you out of your conform zone.

Have you seen the anime chaos/head ? If not go watch the first 3 episodes. ( it's for a better understanding of my point here, so it's not necessary. )

Anyway, in december last year i've dated somebody EXACTLY like the main character of chaos/head.
The guy was sweet and all but seriously he didn't know anything about real life. Only anime things.
Our relashionship only lasted 2 months. It's not the only reason but still, i don't recommend it either.

And yes it's a kind of relashionship that is 100%safe of any diseases or having children. but I think it's not heatly to "feel" that way towards something or someone ( I don't want to offend anybody here), that dosen't exist for real.

It will complicated all of your relations. Not only the romantic kind but also frienship.
And personally, i think that 3D people are much more fun to hang out with.

But, again i really don't want to offend anyone. If you are "okay" with the idea of living your life alone liking 2D animes characters. It's not like anybody could prohibited you from doing so.

For a moment, I thought as in... 2D objects... And I was going to say something like "They'd have a hard time in the universe..."

Um... No.

I respect those types of bonds. They probably won't go around kidnapping other humans, right?

ME!ME!ME! depicted a person overly attached to the 2D realm. It has pretty explicit imagery but if you look past that without being a pansy or overly offended person, the meaning is clear.

why wouldn't be?

What defines healthy? conforming to society's idea of normality?

As long as it isn't making your life miserable, sure why not.

Considering how much of modern anime have little girls as either the entire cast or principle leads, based on the question of the topic I gotta say yeah, that just aint right.

As much as I love Jibril and she's my favorite NGNL character, I refuse! Think of it this way, a vote for technology is a vote for the potential of virtual reality neural linking so you can be with your waifu for laifu. Wrong thread for this discussion lol.

Reject 3D? Are they ants? Boils down to it being really easy to form a parasocial relationship with a character, given how low maintenance and low skill it is.

Strangely, given the title of the thread, it's entirely on-topic.

Of course it's healthy. There's nothing healthy about 3D girls though.

Im sure there's not too much of this here but there's a faction of anime/etc fans who are only into 2-D, and deny 3-D. It's okay to feel attracted to characters slightly, but the extreme... is this healthy? I dont think it is. What do you say?

Well all I can say is they will stay single and have a lot of money, or a lot of money to spend on anime related content, They probably won't get an STD.

But would a virtual reality that you can neurally connect to be considered a 2D plane of existence? I feel that it is making 2D a reality in which it becomes 3D... and if it's 3D, then it's OFF TOPIC
