As a metalhead of the 80s in HS I would've died of embarrassment if everyone knew my musical tastes in the 79s...

Elvis
The Beatles/Wings
The Monkees
Pat Benatar
Michael Jackson
Kenny Rogers
Gordon Lightfoot
Harry Chapin
Don McLean
The Mama's and the Papas
Fleetwood Mac

Ironically, I listen to most of these much more nowadays than the hard rock/metal groups I listened to in HS.

When I was really young, I really liked the old maroon 5. I was also really, really into rock music.

Thankee. I can't take credit though. I had progressive parents (who loved 60s and 70s rock) and a ton of older cousins with good taste in music .

I listened to a lot of those bands as well as some like Mr. Mister, Alan Parsons Project, Whitesnake, Meatloaf and so many older bands. I am currently listening to 1980's House now. Such catchy club music!

Loooooove all those acts (especially Whitesnake and APP). I never really got into House music though. With the crew I used to hang with I would've gotten the beating of a lifetime if I got caught listening to it . We were all leather-clad metalheads. Looking back I looked funny as hell.

I am a metal head too. I listen to all forms of metal (current to old, death to symphonic). Luckily I haven't been beaten to a pulp for loving old music too. Nice to meet someone who knows who Alan Parsons Project is! Your one of the first. Such an unknown gem.
