Name one bad thing the atomic bomb did. It stopped a damn war.

Slaughtering hundreds of thousands of civilians and exposing the land to nuclear radiation isn't a bad thing?

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki only ranks #3 and #4 in terms of the most devastating bombings in history.

Dresden, Germany ranks #1

That's still pretty high up in those rankings. And even if it wasn't the absolute worst in some people's opinions, it still doesn't excuse the negative effects it had.

Absolute worst thing ever? hmmm.

That moment when you realized you're out of toilet paper. But I guess that doesn't count as the worst thing "created".

The worst thing ever created is probably modern gaming.

The development of the atomic bomb may have been terrible, but it had positive results. It ended a war and the technology has significant non-military applications.

The bombing of Dresden was not only more devastating, it was pointless. Germany was already beaten.

Both pale in comparison to the picture I posted: the Nazi death camps killed millions.

The Germans stopped using death camps after the war.
Whether anyone was going to use the bomb again, we spent sixty years hiding under our beds.

Japan was already losing by that point. The U.S. army was closing in on the mainland and Japan was the last remaining member of the Axis. They were already done for. The war would've lasted only a few more weeks and cost the lives of some more soldiers, but that's far more preferable than murdering hundreds of thousands of civilians not once, but twice. Dropping the bombs at that point in time was overkill, especially after seeing the effects of the first bomb. Just because Japan didn't want to surrender didn't mean they couldn't be defeated.

There was one positive effect. It kept every other nation reluctant to start nuking each other. That's about it.

As far as I'm concerned, the dropping of atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the greatest war crime to ever go unpunished. It's basically the equivalent of pushing back ISIS and nearly destroying them, then some idiot decides to nuke Iraq and Syria just because the extremists aren't giving up when they're already losing. You see how absurd such an action is?

Despite what most would think, it was a necessity for both sides.

Lawnmowers.

I hate them. They are loud and annoying. And people like to use them very early in the morning and I'm not an early bird.

So lawnmowers are my worst mortal enemy.

Yeah, they took it over bad. Once a french culture gag (hence where the word cinema came from) going to America and saved by a female Canadian now turned to crap. XD
