Did some fishing for information. That's the percentage of North Koreans that died in the last war too. Mostly civilians.

If its "great leader" doesn't want to take care of his people and focus only on military, why should we take care of them for him.

NK can last this long without collapse because China keeps it survive to use it to taunt US, South Korea, and Japan.

China has lost control over North Korea. They're essentially now just another target for North Korea.

I'd love to see these numbers. Since NK only had 270,000 effectives in the Korean war.

Scrap that. Looked into it deeper. It's more like 4%. Need to look deeper into some sources sometimes I guess.

Unless someone wants to feed NK for free, since it doesn't have much to offer, I predict it will have to open its gates and connect with the rest of the world soon. Those NK dictators clearly don't seem to be doing anything good for the citizens.

You'd think they would have a lot of soylent green to eat there, given the death camps.

This is like Animal Farm in real life.

George Orwell got it right in Animal Farm.

It's bound to happen when NK is full of itself, and China probably thinks using NK isn't effective anymore.

Yeah look we as a country have done a lot of countries wrong, but North Korea's woes lie on the Kim family's head. They are starving because they are ruled by a reprehensible dictatorship which has grown fattened and lazy on the suffering of it's emaciated and brainwashed populace. It is the closest real world parallel to Oceania from 1984, a nightmarish exercise in human rights abuses that has kept it locked in the 1950s, and all the humorous stuff North Korea does sometimes makes people forget that. When the Kims eventually do fall, and they will, North Korea's current status quo is unsustainable, it is going to be the biggest humanitarian crisis in human history. An entire nation of people starving and suffering the scourges of a lifetime of misinformation and propaganda, wholly ignorant of the world at large and with none of the skills they'll need to survive in the 21st century.

I would think so just out of the goodness of our hearts.

Have you heard about what goes in there and how they're treated?
Its literally like the dystopian societies we see in our fictional movies & books.

A women who escaped from there about a year ago was talking about and everything she had to go through to escape. It sounded like hell...I'd never forget a story like hers.

I would totally wanna help out NK's people but definitely not their dictators.

Not really China's been pretty done with them for a while. the reason North Korea persists is simple. It is going to be devastating to take them out. They pose no real threat to the U.S. of course. Their army is starving, laughably under-equipped and going up against the most powerful military in human history. It will not be a war, it will be the equivalent of smashing a bug to bits with a baseball bat. But in the short window of time before they're brought to heel they stand to do a lot of damage. They have missiles pointed squarely at Seoul, and the civilian death toll from their attacks is bound to be massive.
