If you consider that most 'normal' people basically get drunk as their main form of recreation, then indulging in fiction is actually much more productive. I am like you, I really don't like small talk or gossip. I like to discuss what I am informed about, or spend time getting more informed about it. It's usually seen as normal for people to indulge in viewing sports, but the only difference between sports and fiction in the long run is that sports circulates more money. So there really is no shame in indulging in what you enjoy as long as you aren't hurting other people, and statistically you are less likely to do that discussing a book than you are discussing sports or getting intoxicated.

You are 100% Truth. Like you pulled the words right out of my mind!
Value of time is subjective. The only thing that matters is that your
having fun and no one else is hurt from that fun.

Most of the time people that have problems with what other people
do also do something that is mostly non productive but enjoyable
to them. They never say things like "your wasting time with anime,
you should be learning something" its always hey if your getting
drunk and partying then YOUR NORMAL and need no ADVICE
on how to live life "right"...

I dont like to preach, but I feel like as a society, and especially in fan groups like what we're all a part of here, fiction trumps reality.

Don't let it.

Go out. Live in the real world. This is just a hobby. Don't spend days, weeks, months cooped up watching anime, or reading manga or playing video games. There's plenty of time for that, but don't let it become life. Let is be a supplement.

Life's too short to waste any day of it. It really seriously is. I don't want to get personal, or depressing, but life and death are a lot closer in relation than you think.

So just a friendly reminder to shut the computer, put down the phone, shut off the console and go live.

No.
Your move.

Iam very glad that i have lived both. I have spent plenty of my life out in the real world and plenty home with a few friends or by myself.
I see alot of people are one or the other. I feel like i live the best of both worlds.
Well, maybe not the best. But i go through phases where iam social and out going and then iam the opposite.
The real world can be fun, it can be boring and a waste of money.
Sometimes when i go out i wish i was home lol.

i actually understand your point in this, i noticed a lot of people in CR who just seem to get drawn in anime. What happens in anime most of the time? The MC makes friends, faces problems, solves them etc. And maybe some people here just find it amazing and all when they can do it in real life. I dont know how to word it but sometimes you just gotta get out and do stuff, so you can experience real life. (i dont intend to sound offensive in any way)

I have to tell some of my friends that quite often. They've started to become hermits.

Assumptions, assumptions . Watching anime is one hobby. I don't even do that every day. I have others some done outside of my home. I live in the real world. I'm intrigued that others who also live in the real world produce fiction especially when they've done their homework before doing so. I am sure there are those who also live a full life without anime/fiction taking over.

F-T-W INDEED! xD

In reply to OP:
But we all live our lives the way we want, right? :D I kayak, I watch Anime. I go manatee watching, I read a manga. I have dialysis, I sleep. xD
That last one is irrelevant, but I enjoy reading/watching it all, but I still go out. Even if it's a hobby, it's an amazing one, isn't it!? ;D

I think getting older causes this though. I have way less friends and go out less than i used to. On line gaming hasn't helped but sometimes going out just isn't as fun as it was or it just seems like too much effort now, too hard to organise like people are busy or broke and going out drinking becomes the same old.
Eh i dunno.

I've already lived plenty and I don't need a "friendly" presumptuous sermon on how short life is or how to live what I have left..

When I read things like OP's it sounds like he assumes none of us have ever done physical activities in our lives.
