Congratulations, on being the stupidest thing I have read all day.

On a side note who finds an office at 20 Celsius (68F) too cold, are you some type of reptile in hiding?

It depends on the weather outside a bit too. During the winter, 20°C is a fine temperature, but during the summer when it's 30°C or more that's a huge drop. When I grocery shop I walk to the farmers market first and it's outdoors so it's fairly warm, but when I go to the grocery store to pick up the extras the temperature change during the summer is a little shocking. So I like to keep our A/C at home tolerable but not too far from the outside temperature.

Actually I do. Combination of being a woman, maybe being on my period, or low blood sugar. I forgot my cardigan today and I'm freezing my ass off. I wear a winter coat in the office during even the fall and spring.

I've heard of uni students in the Caribbean bemoaning going to class with coats and scarves because of the pre-set air conditioning.

I've been sat in shorts and a tee-shirt, window open, at 14 Celsius (59f) and still felt warm

I mean, maybe you could angle an argument that patriarchal values informing the nature of business formal attire are disadvantaging men by requiring them to wear inappropriate clothing for the weather, and that by extension of men's need to turn the thermostat down so they're not sweltering in their polyester oven bags women are suffering from being cold and having to don extra layers while at work. But that would be patriarchy screwing everyone, not just women. And that's assuming one can classify the nature of male business formal attire as part of patriarchal values.

That's the best I've got, folks. It's a bizarre argument.

Last vacation to Florida, we were hit with three days of rain--And every time I ducked into a shop to get out of being drenched, the AC was blasted to 65, to keep us cool in the "sun". Ended up coming down with chills, and staying in bed for a day or two with a 24-hour something.

Oh, and I'm a guy. But also a Democrat, so I'm not ruling out deliberate conspiracies.

Have you tried long johns? You wear it under your clothing to stay warm. We walk to the farmers market all year long, so during the winter it's a necessity. You could change into them when you get to the office.

I keep my house @ 55 F year-round. I must be extremely sexist right?

On a serious note, I shook my head at this thread.

Good to see that feminists are tackling the tough issues.
