I volunteer at a senior facility once a week. Its really easy doing an errand for someone or just listening to someone who has been forgotten by their relatives or is by themselves. Pushing a wheel chair to check out some flowers or playing bridge it makes me feel good and they miss me when I get busy and cant make it. When I first started I was kinda nervous but most smile at me and always say thank you so its totally worth it to me

I'm helping out a mate that i'm pretty certain suffers from social anxiety. Having suffered quite a bit from it myself in my earlier years i can't just stand by and do nothing, but i suppose this could be considered selfish in some way.

Or just paying it forward.

I've been there. Just one person extending a hand in friendship changed my life. While most of the people I met as a result have since moved on, the circle of friends he introduced me to included my wife.

I work at a group home. It definitely feels very rewarding being able to help someone, even in the smallest parts of their lives.

Two of my best friends use to be hardcore junkies.
In December I told them that I would help them
make it through, and then my friend Britt
got locked up in January which gave me
a chance to help her fiance quit meth and I gave her
and Britt lots of support even though Britt was in
jail. It was probably the best thing that had ever
happened to them.

Now Meg is going to college (I helped her with it)
and when Britt gets out, I'm helping her get
her G.E.D. :)

They've both been clean since early January.

Wanted to share

We can make failures and learn,
who said we could not learn from how to do things right.
To know how to act and not panic?
I know there is alot of videos about this but this one really caught my eye, def worth a watch!

good to hear, and does it not really effect their bodies hard being so long without it? (think someone said its easier taking smaller doses)

I have been saved from a life of loneliness by a single person stretching out their hand in friendship.

I have saved a dear friend from an abusive marriage.

The second event would not have taken place had the first not occurred.

I grabbed the steering wheel for someone to stop another car from colliding with us. It was a Hummer, we were in a Beetle.
