Whats your favourite setting for a story? Utopia? Fantasy? Post-Apocolyptic?

Metro is a book (well theres 2) set in post apocolyptic russia, after a nuclear war, where the population, or, the ones who survived, take up refuge in the subway/metro system, hence the name metro, and are split into various factions, in the first book it follows the adventure/travel of Artyom. in these tunnels lie mutated creatures, biological dangers, bandits, nomadic factions.. its a really good book to get immersed in the story and leave you thinking i'll try and find a picture of how the metro system is divided up into factions

My ideas were about this teen, who recently graduated from an engineering college, who was on the metro on his way home from college, when the bombs fell, and was press ganged into joining the extreme fascist faction, and what life was like, because we had to write it in a particular style, i wrote about him looking back over his life, as he lays dying in the tunnels, with a mutants claw sticking out of is chest, and i cant quite remember, but i had a really moving quote (to me anyway) that he said at the beginning and repeated at the end that was all really, however i was talking to my friend, who has also read it, and we were discussing that they should create an anime of it

Ooh thanks for letting me know, I'll have to read it! And your story sounds awesome, & your friend is right. No problem with the picture.

Once upon a time, in a land far away, an evil witch rules the land (main antagonist) a brave young boy/girl (main protagonist) decides to stand up to this evil witch, along the way;, boy/girl meets girl/boy and more friends, towards the end, something happens to the main protagonists friend, causing them to drive stronger for their cause etc,,,,, something like that?

i can usually formulate a story with a couple of triggers xD
