How do you keep yourself thin?
Posted 7/29/15 , edited 7/29/15
I've seen the users here, and you guys actually are a good looking bunch (blushes).

So what do you do to keep thin? Exercise, diet? What do you do? I'm obsessed with staying fit, it's almost too much sometimes. I exercise and diet all the time, just to keep off the weight I lost. It's a hard battle. People think you lose weight and it stays off. It's a lifelong commitment.

So how do you do it?

Laxatives. Because after I had an ED, my digestive system stopped functioning correctly and I kind of have to take them now. I've always had digestive issues, but they tend to make me... overdo things... ok, tmi.
Also, I walk my dog 2 times a day. Every day. And swim. Sometimes.

Also, I can't eat near what I used to, my portions are far smaller each meal, so there's that.

I'm also struggling with my fitness... But I know that the times I lose weight properly is when I keep my portions right... And adequate sleep and exercise....... Life is a battle...... You just have to find a workout that you seriously, seriously enjoy.... Usually that is walking... So I can walk for ages and be happy and then my stomach would shrink..... Losing weight is a lifelong commitment, especially for those of us who enjoy food...

It's a mindset. Eat to live, don't live to eat. Also, eat small portions of normal food so you can keep maintaining it.

I think it just come down to what you eat and what you do. I have watched others for years and I have noticed that the thin people tend to push back from the table when they are full, ignore or walk away from the candy. It just boils down to what you do not burn, your body stores. I agree that it is a life long commitment and the older you get the more work it will take to keep up.

My body is adapted to eating one meal a day. I eat enough during that meal to maintain a healthy weight.

I used to weight quite a bit. I lost about 25 pounds and I'm not as big anymore. I think I am kind of thin. I just ate less and the weight came off real fast. I bet I can maintain this.

I've been just about the same weight and looking just about the same almost regardless of my diet so I think for me diet really doesn't matter too much. As for exercise I'm lazy as hell enough said. From what I researched the bacteria in your gut can have quite the influence in how you store fat so perhaps I just have a good amount of the slimming bacteria in my gut by chance.

different strokes for different folks.

Fast metabolism, not eating, or laxatives is why thin people are thin tbh.
You can't be healthily thin unless you have the body type.

I'm curvy & chubby with a hourglass looking figure where I have big boobs and big hips/thighs.
Got a cute face, chubby waist, make you do a double take.

I maintain my body weight thought nowadays by not eating much and walking for about 30 minutes a day.
But don't be like me. Just eat healthy & drink lots of water and exercise.

I don't eat fast food like I used to and I also exercise.
It's hard work but it's all worth it in the end

The trick is cardio. Do excercises that get your heart going really fast, like running, jumping, basically anything that moves major muscle groups constantly for an extended period, at least 15 minutes per day. My favorite ones include a mixed combination of climbers, jump squats, burpees, etc. Make it different each day and make it fun. You can separate them in sets if you need to. Oh, and youtube is a treasureload of good cardio routines, so check it out.

Of course, be careful if you have a heart condition, you don't want to overwork yourself to death. Work at your own pace. You just want your body to "heat up" enough to burn that fat.

Thanks to cardio, I can eat unhealthy foods like eat ice cream, cake, pizza, chocolate, etc., without getting fat

The most important thing is to exercise. Especially as you get older. Walk a lot, run, or ride a bike.
