The media needs to shut up about how much "police brutality" they think there is, and stop making people panic like wacko conspiracy theorists

Meh, just endless tedium I suppose. I've got plenty of things that i would like to go out and do, and only recently have i really acquired the drive to go off and do any of them. But currently i'm just feeling a little tied down that i'm staying to finish the last year and a half of my BSME Degree. I was pretty excited when i got into college about having a career in engineering, and its not that i don't like engineering at all, but theres so much else i want to do for me to just work all the way through college and then work myself some more to make a living. I want to work some of the harder blue collar jobs, some of the more interesting and dangerous ones, go traveling, see sights and meet people. I've got this intense wanderlust in me and i want to be able to exploit that excitement, but i don't want to give up on my degree, so its just essentially counting down the days til i'm done, then breaking a few other ties that keep me where i am, and just go. I'm not afraid of living a little roughly, not making a lot of money, anywhere there's a will, there's a way

Mosquitoes. They keep biting my feet when I sleep, so putting shoes on really sucks.

I have my physics final exam in a week and I know absolutely nothing about angular momentum and torque... on top of rotational kinetic energy. If these words flew over your head, trust me you're not alone.

I moved up about a month ago to another town for college with my folks and sister, but I don't know anybody here. It's kinda boring not being able to talk to anybody, but I have been enjoying my anime and games.

I also did pretty well in high school (was an honor roll student), but I still worry about how I'll fare in college. I'm not going to a prestigious school or anything, but still, my life is about to change drastically.

stuck working at a job making minimum wage where people who don't even speak English are making more than me. Doing ALL the work including getting stuck working off the clock for an hour+ daily and being unable to find any other job

Oh man, I've got a lot on my mind right now.

Well I have a big convention to go to Labor Day weekend. I'm the only one of my friends who's really been planning anything for it, so it's been a lot of stress and pressure to make sure everyone takes time off work and get's their crap together. I'm pretty much the group mom.
I also have a pretty labor intensive cosplay to finish by then. And the pressure is on because I'm starting to schedule photoshoots and meetups, so it needs to get finished.

On top of con things, I'm currently working on an a paid illustration commission for a friend of mine. He's in the final stages of editing his sci-fi fantasy book, and I'm working on the chapter heads for him. I've got 31 different pictures to make and they all need to be done by the end of August.

Thankfully I haven't been working at my actual job as much so I have time to work on these things. But on the other hand I'm not getting paid much either, which is really making cosplay stuff difficult too. As well as saving up for the con itself.

This next month is going to be super hectic and crazy, but if I can make it through, I think I'll do alright.

The CR forums are a great way to socialize until you meet people. I bet you will meet people at college too. I went to college when I was older, so I was in a course full of people with a large age range. I didn't really make any friends because none of us were planning to make friends there, but I noticed the younger students managed to find friends amongst themselves. If there's an anime club, that would be even better.
