In 1992, I stole a VHS from a local comic shop titled, "Bubblegum Crisis 2: Born to Kill" After that, the rest was history. I've been watching anime ever since.

I also stop stealing ever since I got caught stealing comics from the same shop. I was young and hungry! lol

Back when I was in middle school a new channel was through basic tv and late night that would show akira and a few of the weirder movies

but the one that peeked my interest was Crying freeman. At the time my mom got satellite and we got the movie channels for signing up and

Starz have Action and they played Ghost in the Shell and Macross Plus and thats when I got hooked. Then when I started high school my

friend started giving me dvds with different series on them since I was and still am hooked and not so much for him.

I was obsessed with Ronin Warriors & Speed Racer as a kid in the early 90's (born in '87), but I had no idea what anime was & pretty much just considered them cartoons. In the late 90's I got extremely into Dragon Ball Z , but still I didn't really know what anime was. At this point I at least knew it was a "Japanese cartoon", but I was still completely unaware of the wide world of anime. The first anime I watched going into it fully know what I was watching was an anime was Trigun in 2002. I became absolutely obsessed with it & soon moved on to Gungrave & Neon Genesis Evangelion , & after that I dove neck deep into the wide, varied, beautiful world of anime! Almost all of my friends aren't into anime at all & don't understand how or why I'm so into it. There's still this bad stigma in the western world that anime is mainly for kids. *sigh*. I did get one into Neon Genesis Evangelion , he even bought the DVD boxset, but for some reason he doesn't really have any interest in checking out any more anime. Oh well, if one is to own only one anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion isn't a bad choice hah.

Excel Saga dub was my first. Then a few years later when DBZ was on Cartoon Network I would rush home after school to watch it. Mainly stuck to sci fi / action anime but earlier this year I succumbed to peer pressure and watched ToraDora. Now I watch slice of life / moe / romance anime like they're going out of fashion
